I would say "pay at your own risk" instead of "play at your own risk". If it is free to play like Apex, then it is not a big deal that you get banned just because 100.0% of the LInux-gamers got banned for the crime of using Linux. It sucks, but the publisher didn't steal from you unless you spent money on skins. If you pay for a multiplayer game and you get banned then the publisher stole money from you. You paid to play for as long as the multiplayer community is sufficiently large but you only get 1/x value so (x-1)/x was stolen from you by the publisher. I would love to see a victim sue the publisher for that. It is not worth the cost of sueing them but it could and should set a good precedent that the victim is entitled to get a big part of the money back so I would welcome a richer person sueing them.

It costs time to progress in the game and whatnot, so getting your account banned is a big deal even if you didn't pay any money for anything on it.
