2:08 as a venom main, i would really recommend against using the swing to set up frenzied arrival, instead use your ability to climb walls to set up an ambush, use your swing to escape death

Absolutely! The range on the pounce is easily comparable to a swing but also far more accurate. Wall climb from cover, peek to aim the pounce and save the swing to exit. If done correctly you'll be constantly diving in after pulling out to your nearest healer to recover thereby applying near constant pressure.

I personally think that the resilience should be a passive just as Wolverine's is so that the ability slot can be used for something more meaningful like long distance grab that pulls targets to you like Spidey has. At present, no tanks can push or pull anyone out of position and Venom suffers from being completely unable to deal with fliers unlike all the other tanks.

@froggyjm9 His Ult bumps them slightly, I'm talking about a full-on displacement like Roadhog or similar. At present, Magneto is the closest with a pitiful 6m knockback which is literally 3 steps for most characters when it would be far more effective for Mag Cannon to be booping a target at least 20m so as to clear the objective for a few seconds or make use of map edges.

@@KryyssTV Rivals doesn’t really have pure tanks, dps and supports like OW. Lots of their characters fall a little in between. Winter Soldier does Roadhog and Reaper. Mantis can get around 20 kills and 15 assists a match while healing. People need to start thinking less in OW terms and see Rivals for what it is.

@froggyjm9 I see what Rivals is and you can't have a squad based game with soft teamwork due to most of the characters being damage focussed. Yes, duelists and strategists are all potent damage dealers and that is the whole problem. Look at this from a sports perspective, Rivals is a game of soccar/football has no goalkeeper and everyone else are strikers. Do you see the problem with thar?

@ no because it’s a poor analogy in the way you use it. Rivals is exactly like football, your defenders can be offensive weapons and your attackers can be defensive assets to gain possession back.

I usually use Venom to draw aggro off my healers then exit when they arent in danger anymore and cling to a wall at a vantage point waiting for a healer or DPS to dive

If you’re like me, want to play Spider-Man but don’t have the patience to learn him just play venom. He’s just a beefy, slightly less mobile, more forgiving version of him imo. Similar playstyle just hammer the backline and get out.

You should make a video on how to effectively play the tank role. Sometimes I'll go in and dive when my team is right behind me, get the aggro of 5-6 players on the enemy team and turns out my teammates didn't follow up so im alone and die.

You’re supposed to swing above them, fall for a second, dive bomb, pop the tether and start hopping around while hitting them with tentacles. Once your health gets under 300 pop your resilience so that by this time your swing is available and regroup with your healers. That’s how I play him and I barely die doing it while getting around 20,000+ dmg blocked per game

It sounds like you're talking about using him as sort of a tanky assassin I think this works but do you think he could also act as a frontliner and engage in teamfights?

Only if nessecary, but even then, he should be disrupting the backliners. Def not an assassin but a bully. If you're going too much into a team fight, there are better tanks.

Basically just go in and out and keep bothering them if you do go frontline because they’ll immediately try to kill you as venom

In a team fight make sure you are close in healing range. You can swing up and and slam the enemy back line if it’s close enough. If you disrupt the healers eventually enemy team will die without heals to ur teams dps and support

He’s not a front liner in the least. He does good damage but he’s meant to disrupt the backline. Diving the supports to prevent the enemy team from healing and forcing the others to peel is how he relieves his team from enemy pressure.

Control point maps where people all go onto point. Dive into the middle and pop right click.

It's only possible in practice mode. It's a setting to turn off skill cooldowns. So don't worry your not missing any essential tech

This is just my opinion but i think as the game being out for 2 weeks venom is heavily overrated like i get he’s not supposed to do damage but he’s just their to be an annoying diver, like the moment i see a luna or mantis or a jeff i get off venom cause he actually just cannot kill them also his ult is really weak venom is just a damage absorber but also his main attack feels so weird i could be accurate with it and it would miss also on his slow down effect honestly doesnt feel like its their at all i would love to see venom get changes to his shield ability and put it towards his basic attack and his slowdown.

MVP is heavily weighted towards KD ratio and is a horrible indicator for who did the most for a team. I've literally seen Supports with over 20k of healing who were clearly holding everyone together but MVP went to a Damage hero just because of this bias. A good tank will be contesting the objective, protecting their supports and staying alive which are all things the highlights and MVP system don't care about.
