The OG trio was Wolverine, Spidey, and Hulk, but because Iron Man was getting a big push and Wolverine was doing his own thing with the X-Men on the movie side of things, they swapped the two, which wasn't a bad decision. This move helped Iron Man edge closer to the mainstream media, and Wolverine didn't lose any sort of popularity from it.

@@abhinavgandham4883 in the comics Tony Stark gives Peter the Iron Spider during the Civil War when he's almost 30, in the movies he gets (one of the best Spider-Man suits from the comics) when he's like 15 and he uses it across 4 different movies, everything about the MCU Spider-Man was just wrong from the start, there's no need for him to use any other suit other than the Iron Spider from the near beginning of his journey because it's so OP, having a nanotech bulletproof suit with shit ton of technology and coming back to using a plain cloth suit is like willingly going from driving a Bentley Continental GT to driving a PT Cruiser, it just makes no sense because Spider-Man was not intended to be in the MCU and he was shoehorned into Infinity War and Endgame

I remember my dad showing me this short sometime in the late 2000s or early 2010s but I had no idea it was actually made quite a bit earlier than even the first Iron Man film or that it had a tie-in comic. It's interesting to learn all of this history behind such a nostalgic short.

I think you could really go further with all the connections that old Marvel animation has with the MCU and other later films. A lot of these things had producers in common like Avi Arad and Kevin Feige. The 90s Spider-Man cartoon was a clear influence on the Raimi films and so many other pieces of media. Not sure how or why but I distinctly remember an event at my school where every kid in my class got a copy of the Marvel Adventures comic. Chances are it was probably one of the first comics I ever actually owned. Because of it I found the short online and because of that, was super excited for the Iron Man movie. 2 things I learned from this: 1. I remembered that found my love of comic books through this short, and 2. The marketing guys behind Marvel at the time were freaking good at their jobs.

I love the meta narrative of Spidey, the biggest multimedia superhero at that time because of the Raimi trilogy, basically giving the rub to Hulk and Iron Man, who’d both be the first heroes to feature in phase 1 of the MCU. In this case, i think DC's animation does a lot more for the brand than even its movies could ever produce. They are soo top-tiered that trying to do a live action will do injustice to it. My favourite DC animation are ones about Green Lantern. I learn a alot about the superhero itself and his power mainly through the show. Also I think DC's streak with soo many animation shows so much so that there is no one standard look or style to a character that anyone can get behind. In the end..everytime they show up on screen, there's always some kind of element added to the detail such like a suit or a personality..that it's all over the place. On the other hand, there is not one single Marvel animation shows that I can praise. And that's a good thing for the live action because elements from another material has not been used to death in another.

The Iron man push was so organic. He was getting more exposure than ever because of Civil war and ultimate alliance. I even credit this short for doing alot for that push. His animated movie came out the year before his big screen debut. I remember being more interested in the character than ever just a year or 2 before 2008 and then BOOM. His movie drops and he's a household name.
