I watched the whole show, and I am obsessed with it. It is my favorite show EVER!! You only talked about the legit most normal episodes in the show. The parents didn't wear bathrobes, they each had there own outfits, based on what they were, Chase wasn't a Jock like guy, Molly was suppose to be younger the the main group and some other things that hadn't been shown in this first episode.

I do love runaways. Even though there are some bits that are a little weird, it is one of the only teen shows I like, and I really hate teen shows. The first 2 episodes aren't great but once you get further into it, it's actually really good. The characters and storyline is engaging. Ugh I love Runaways so much! I've binge watched the whole series multiple times and I've read all the comics so this review hurt my heart just a little bit 😂 Ok so first It's actually spelled Nico with a "C" also Gert is a lot more important to the storyline than you gave her credit for and people definitely noticed that Karolina passed out which is why Chase had to save her. This show is incredible and deserves to be so much more popular than it is so everyone go and watch it, I promise it's actually really good!

I am well aware of it's issues, and regularly analyzed it while watching it, but watching videos on it stresses me out. Same thing with other things i get an obsession with, like Runaways. The Marvel Netflix shows are more adult oriented. Don't get me wrong, they're really good shows (Iron Fist not withstanding), but with more mature subject matter and violence. I hear Cloak and Dagger over on FreeForm is more of a Superhero/Teen Drama type thing you might be interested in checking out.

The whole time I was watching the Runaways I kept waiting for them to, you know, RUN AWAY xD and it doesn't even happen until the end of the season. Each episode I'd start thinking, "Okay..this is it, this is the one where they finally decide to run away from their crazy cult parents", but no ~ Honestly...it was pretty unnerving with how long it took to happen. I mean, the name makes you think it'll happen early on so it taking a whole season just seemed like it was stretched out xD

it was. the comic's first issue STARTS with the kids elarning about their parents and then running away togeher, hence the title. In fact they only get their special powers/abilities/gadgets/dinosaur etc AFTER they learn the truth about their parents and run away. ALSO, Molly is much younger in the original comic, the kids barely knew each other if at all before the fateful night they found out their parents were sueprvillains and there was thus no subplot about their friendship being torn apart.

Speaking as someone who has been a fan of the Runaways comics since college (coughcough 2003-ish), the first season is kind of meh - very heavy on the teen drama. Season two they kind of remember "oh yeah, super hero stuff! We should actually do some of that from the comics!" and it gets pretty cool. Also I think they got more money for their budget so they can actually SHOW the dinosaur more, where as first season she might as well be Where's Waldo for all the times you get to see her.
