With what we got it wouldn’t have been better the whole premise of secret invasion was dead since captain marvel decided to make them skrulls sympathetic refugees and now those same refugees decide to wipe out all live on earth cause Furry broke a promise to them, making you question if Kree had a point. Especially when it was confirmed that Skrulls were the aggressors in the 1st place.

My favourites are skrulls are actually revealed to be a WAR like species that nobody else in the galaxy wants EVEN in Nowhere. Skrulls a space traveling species legitimately relied on us a non space traveling species to find a planet FOR THEM and since of course we couldn’t fucking do it they no decided that they are justified in subverting our governments and wiping out all life of the ONLY species in the universe that took them in and the show has the gall to make it sound like they have a point??? And my most favourite is Nick saying that we shouldn’t involve Avengers in fear of them copying Avengers so his grand plan is to give all of the dna of Avengers to them and hope Emilia somehow wins in a coin toss match. It just unreal how someone wrote it, had other people look at it, had an entire production of 200 MILLION DOLLARS and nobody thought this was shit.

I think the biggest problem with some of the mcu shows is they dont consider the continuity of the mcu during or going forword like loki retconing how time travel worked in end game, or taking stakes out of the universe because she hulk could just stop kang by breaking the 4th wall pretty easily, and now this super skrull chick which will probably be mostly ignored in most storys where they would be useful like captain marvel or the eternals

@@Lobsterwithinternet yeah loki has pretty bad consequences of its writing when you think about it even to itself the show is formed from a plot hole they made up because if loki wasn't supposed to take the cube then the Tony and cap wouldn't have gone back further in time so that means the one true time line is based on a paradox that will always form a loki variant and that timeline be reset and if the time line is reset then loki never took the cube which messes up the time line

Fun fact, the director said that Nick Fury's arc in this movie was learning to move past his racism towards Skrulls and see his wife for who she is as a Skrull, and not as an "other". They literally retconned Nick to have a wife, be a terrible absent husband, and racist towards Skrulls, all so he can learn not to be racist. They had NICK FURY learn not to be racist.

Sonya had some good moments, but they could have easily used Maria Hill for her instead if Maria didn't die. Also, I like how Gravik's plan revolves around putting Skrulls into places around important people instead of just... making the Skrulls important people. Varra and G'iah were both boring characters that could have been left out. This could have been Fury's swan song and he could have dealt with Gravik instead of having G'iah do it.

It's kind of like how the Wrecking Crew in She-Hulk was introduced and dismissed in the exact same scene or the ending where She-Hulk just yells at Kevin Feige and the plots solve themselves.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that the villains were pretty lackluster in this show, and the story _can_ feel a little confusing at times. But that being said, I still think there's a lot of things to appreciate. First things first, I enjoy Kamala's character. She's not some pompous Mary Sue like her hero, Capt. Marvel, and the way the show would morph the settings to show what she was thinking or texting, was a really creative choice, that really immersed you into her way of thinking. They were able to mix the conflicts of her super life, versus her normal life _fairly_ well, and she hasn't done anything unlikable from what I remember, nothing she didn't make up for, at least. Then there's the story, which is.. alright. The villains presence prior to ep. 5 was compelling enough to keep the story going, and I cared for Kamala's conflicts throughout. The action scenes were okay, not Marvel's best by a longshot, but that's because they make way for the best part of this show. The best thing about this show is the humanity. This show really lets you relate to Kamala's struggle of how suddenly becoming a superhero, effects her normal life. Not to mention the great family moments throughout the show, allowing for you to care for them more as well. Overall, I think this show ain't half bad, it's not perfect, but not terrible. Solid 6.5/10, though after all this praise, you probably expected a higher score than that 😅. Yeah there's a lot of shrubbery present in this show, but I've probably typed enough, and you've probably rolled your eyes at how long this is already, so I'll just refrain from that till further notice. Speaking of that, I feel kinda bad for responding to your two paragraphs with a freaking newspaper, so I'll lay down a TLDR just in case you're unwilling to read all of this. TL:DR I agree that the villains are underwhelming, but the characters, and story elements, are what save this show for me. Solid 6.5/10. Feel free to call out anything you disagree with by the way.

Secret invasion was like wandavision for me. Really liked them until the ending hit. The things that really confuse or piss me off is what was Nick Fury’s arc cuz characters act like he’s not “THE Nick Fury” but isn’t that much different. Then there was all that chaos they were also trying to avoid that just broke out and won’t have a second season to follow up on it. And Gravik despite being op is killed pretty easily and quickly. This should have multiple seasons and end with the avengers showing up when the secret is out leading to an avengers movie. It should’ve been an entire saga, a short one but long enough Also I thought Nick bringing up race was to gaslight tf outta Rhodey so he’d help him. And not being able to find a planet makes sense if you think about it. You can’t find a planet that supports life, essentially take it over for an entire race to move in, all without wiping out its inhabitants

Titan seems to be habitable. Thanos' farm planet is definitely habitable. If Rhodey has been a Skrull all this time he actually visited that place. One place that would be decidedly less habitable would be Earth after a nuclear war.

Yes, they are immune to radiation, but can they survive the blastwave of a 200-kilotonne explosion? How many of them are in a position to escape to a bunker? Not that many surely. Plus what's going to be left of the world for them to inherit? A bombed-out crater? I suspect Marvel intended their plan to be a little more Skrull-like and insidious - perhaps a weaponized plague that only affected humans - but that was nixed for being a little too timely.

Apparently they were literally writing the story for the later episodes as episode 1 aired. Makes sense to me, because I feel like certain things are missing. Like Gaia deciding to betray Gravik, Rhodey definitely deserved more time shrouded by the question of if he was a skrull or not, none of the cliffhangers felt that shocking because it felt so predictable what was going to happen. It just was a mess just like every other marvel property nowadays.

I was excited when I first heard about secret invasion but shortly after I knew it was gonna be bad. And yay he reason isn't simple and not being discussed a lot. They rushed it and didn't do this story/plot line service. Secret invasion was as HUGE event in the marvel comics that spanned over years of comic issues. I knew it was a problem when they attempted to dilute such an amazing story line to a few episodes. That right there was a dead give away. Second, we no longer have any of the character we grew to love in the MCU. The whole appeal of secret invasion is the mystery that Any of our beloved characters could be a skrull. Not only did they not attempt to build a story that could have shocked everyone, but the mcu just doesn't have any characters we would have cared about lol

The first episode started off p decent with the chase and whatnot and nick fury is still a good char but this show just has no identity. There's no memorable music, stylistic cues, visuals, engaging action, it's all so dreary and lacking in any form of life or passion outside of fury himself and it makes me truly wonder if it was created for any other reason then tying into the next inevitably mid phase 5 blockbuster. I'd take the corniest worst written stupidest movie ever over another samey boring post 9/11 melodrama like this. I liked to love most of the MCU shows but usually it was the finale I had a problem with cause they just wrap it up no matter what it is, Secret Invasion on the other hand blew cause it was 6 episodes and sure they're acting but action from the boss of the Avengers was missing. You promised me Nick Fury vs the World and the man just rode around in planes, trains and automobiles 😂😂. I could've got over this but to not call in one Avenger and let 80 something Nick Fury handle it and without the help of any government agency. I hated this series the moment he refused to call the avengers and finally the Skrulls look weak, bullets still work, scissors work and if another Skrull becomes Super Skrull at the same time even if all of the Avengers powers combined you can still lose a fight against an amateur basically.

mcu is so bad that i rather wait for venom 3 then to watch any of these shows and movies. hell i would rather see what universal can do with the hulk since MCU ruined HIM and Ruffalo sucks as Bruce banner and hulk that's now "smart hulk" bcuz the activist writers think that can do better than the source material when he actually called professor hulk. yeah, i would rather see universal get another shot with a hulk movie, it'll be already million times better than the handling of the hulk in mcu/disney marvel. ruffalo actng also got aggressively worst in she-hulk like my god he wasn't even trying the same with Tatiana Maslany ho was not only terrible at the role but also miscast. i also hate that mcu is the only one that's claim the comic book universe name earth 616 all while still being earth 1999999. it's ok for them to claim both?? how is this perfectly fine? can u imagine if fox did this? there would literally be an outrage mob attacking them on the daily. but since it's disney marvel is ok, nothing to worry about.
