Bought the pro, used it on a TV with 2.1 hdmi, 120hz, VRR, and ALLM on preformence mode and the diffrence is insane. Cant go back...

What I'm really impressed with ps5 pro is that RT. As you can see, RT on building or puddle looks far better on ps5 pro. Not to mention the image quality even though the game looks still good on ps5.

I completely agree! I've got a few more clips that really show off the differences in RT well too, so I'll be including those in my main review soon. The fact it's essentially running the PS5's fidelity mode but at 60fps is a game-changer to me. Absolutely justifies a whole replay of the series 😅

Obviously this will look better if you play it for yourself on your own 4k televisions. Watching it on KZbin doesn’t justify it, because it has lots of compression artifacts.

@JoeGoldberg1991 The big difference isn't necessarily in visuals (apart from on some titles like FF7 Rebirth & Stellar Blade), but rather the fact you don't need to compromise on framerate. If you usually like to use performance modes, but hate how it means the visuals are a lot lower than fidelity, then yes, this is for you, otherwise, probably not. Im still working on a full review & want to test as much as possible with it so am waiting on more patches too. I'm not too sure when I'll get that out but hopefully it won't be too far away.

Yeah, people don't realize it but KZbin's compression algorithm murders high res footage (especially high frequency details or fast movement).

Yes! Bitrate and resolution appears to be the same, and it is still capped at 60FPS, BUT when recording whilst outputting at 120HZ, the Pro still continues to capture in 4K. The slim & OG model would show a message stating that the recording resolution is lowered to 1080p due to the high refresh rate.

For those wondering how to get the same exact thumbnail image. Go to settings>Gameplay>Time of day: Overcast. Then on the map go to Upper East Side>Park Ave and E 63 St (Fo reference is nearby Avengers tower)

Alot less upscaling when swinging through the city in the Pro. When i play SM2 perf mode on my base PS5 i always notice that the game tanks on resolution, especially on 120hz mode.

@@Bstkndsboiiiiii The goal of the pro is to essentially run the base PS5's 30fps fidelity modes at 60fps and beyond, and then maybe some of the 60fps PS5 performance modes at 120. It's a game by game case.

I unfortunately don't have a capture card that supports capturing that properly. That said, fidelity pro (at 30fps) is used to show the interior and reflection improvements near the start. 😊 I highly recommend the performance pro mode, even when playing unlocked on a 120hz screen, though fidelity pro is definitely nice to try & see the upgrades, it isn't worth the lost framerate.

Seeing this, I'm just glad I've always played my games at 30, so I've benefited from fidelity from the jump. I never liked how 60 makes things look. It's hard to explain, but it just makes things look less realistic, even tho I know it's a game. And worse of all, in cut scenes, 60 makes it look just odd to me. The Pro def ain't for people like me.

This sure is an interesting opinion, especially considering how you should be experiencing life at like a ridiculously high "frame-rate". I bet it's an uncanny valley sort of affect for you where the game running smoother with those visuals is in a weird region between almost being real, but also clearly not being. Could also be that as most films & TV are short at 24 or 30fps, you are used to that more cinematic framerate in your entertainment, so seeing cutscenes at a higher framerate feels strange to you as a result? I used to be fine playing 30 in the PS4 days, but yeah once I've moved forwards to 60, there's never any going back for me. 😅

@@Rony-L if you have a iPhone go to your camera, and set the camera to 4k@30 and pan the room. Then switch to 4k@60 and pan. There’s a clear smoothness. Plus that’s a myth that human see the world at 30hz, there’s no scientific evidence of this.

I get where you are coming from for sure, but most people interested in buying a console already have a good TV these days, so it really shouldn't count as a cost to the console. By that same logic, the chair and desk should count towards the cost of the PC. 😅 In my opinion, the best way to play is to have them all! Then you have access to all the latest games, at the best possible quality, though that is of course costly.
