You don’t run on the ground, but you can and will either hit the ground and take damage or face plant if you aren’t careful. You’ll only take damage if fall damage is on, but still, I think that even though running on the ground would be cool, the way they did it still has a risk factor and incentivizes you to swing skillfully.

I like to keep the slider around the four to seven range, it leaves you with optimal mobility, while still engaging you with realistic tensile strength, and pull toward your anchor point while swinging. Also it just feels badass

That's dope how they actually implemented you being able to charge jump from being perched on objects. You could that day and night back on Spiderman 2 for ps2. Glad to see it back in the game. But I'm guessing it's only for when you're perched and that you can't charge jump off of walls and other objects as well???

I was kind of hoping that they would revert the charge jump mechanic back to just the X button by itself too instead of X + R2. However I'm not complaining at all despite the minor wants. We have a 💯% great new Spiderman game and I have yet to play it. Matter of fact I can't at all because I'm still on PS4. I never got a PS5 because I wanted to wait for the right time to get a system since it first came out. Now I have that reason 😉. And so finally, my pop is getting me a PS5 as a late bday present request this Thursday AND I AM STOKED!!! I'll be leaving gamestop with the console and Marvel Spiderman 2 the same day this week! 🙌🏽

I asked about it and never got a response, but it was confirmed here. At least Prototype had it back on PS3 (and PS4../..PS5 since it was ported). edit: im talking about LEAP jumping specifically.

So awesome. Literally the only thing missing is that you just hit the ground no matter what on 0. You can’t run while attached to a web strand. I would LOVE for this to be added in a future update. Then I could honestly say that it beats the original Spider-Man 2 game’s web-slinging in all regards for me personally. Side-note: Did the day one update add in time of day/weather change or nah? I still think it’s insane that it’s a missing feature since time of day change was in the first game at launch and time of day/weather change was in Miles Morales at launch. Especially considering how beautiful the different types of lighting are in this game.

@@presi08AMA yeah I know. After you completed the story in the first game you could go to research stations and change the time of day. In Miles Morales you could change both the time of day and the weather through the menu. Both at launch. But not for this game.

When you say you can't run while attached to web strand, do you mean running ONTOP a web-line that Spider-Man can create now (mainly for stealth purposes)? Btw, MSM didn't have a seamless day/night cycle. It was one of the weirdest things I seen lacking in an openworld of last generation, especially when Horizon Zero Dawn that launched BEFORE it had it and Days Gone which came out just right AFTER it also had it. Sonic Frontiers even has it too, and that's not openworld.

Don't get me wrong, I love Spider-Man (the character), and I really like the first game, but the second game didn't seem to address any of the criticism that the first game got. Developers these days seem to have the "no, we know better than your feedback" attitude and double down on bad decisions. It's what happened to GoW Ragnarok and that was such a disappointment. SM2 seemed to be going in the same direction, the game looked very similar to the first, still has MJ sections, the open world seemed just as Ubisoft-y... I wanted more of an improvement, an evolution, like the jump from Arkham Asylum to City, or Uncharted 1 to 2, Assassin's Creed 1 to 2, Witcher 2 to 3, games where they take every single aspect and make it better, improve the gameplay loop and structure, evolve the mechanics (not just add to them, evolve the mechanics that were already there), things like that. Sorry for the rant lol I've grown really tired of modern AAA gaming, which is funny because I was always an avid defender of it until a couple of years ago. I guess the Sony formula lost its charm to me

Its a really fun option to change, to keep the movement fresh after multiple playthroughs. But you can do insane stuff when the assist is on that you cant normally do. If you want more tech and more options just keep it on. It also makes small arenas a nightmare to swing in if you're trying to swing for style in the middle of combat.

Idea for weather change option instead of just adding it as a menu select allow us to be able to change it at either peters or miles house depending on the character you are in turn allowing us to have access to these places in free roam and not just story purposes someone @ them this!!!!

Makes swinging more engaging. Pair 0 assistance with fall damage and you raise the skill ceiling. No hate to the 10 assistance players but I don’t wanna be on autopilot when I’m swinging around. Past 2 games had great swinging but there weren’t any risks to doing the crazy dive bombs or 30 trick combos. These options incorporate risk

It basically makes the physics of web swinging more realistic in a way and removes all assisted features, such as when you go cloes to the ground usually you can swing right by it while never hitting it because theres a feature stopping you from colliding more easily. But with zero assist, its a challenge to not hit the ground because all assisted features have been removed. Hopefully this makes sense.

And even then (with llv 0 assist) this game's phisics are very unrealistic, and very unsmooth. The way he jumps in time constantly, and can also move the center of mass and inertia wherever he wants even if it doesn't make sense. I wish there was a mode super hard to play where all of that is allowed which I believe is easier to implent than this assisted mode.

I know I got a PS five and Spider-Man for Christmas. I am going to do the level one or zero if that’s a thing because I want to do the OG Spider-Man I’m also never gonna use a wing suit. I’m gonna try to complete a game and I hope they have an achievement or trophy for completing the whole game without wings suit or weird gadgets I want to do it like the OG Tobey Maguire Spider-Manwill make the game last longer and more time versus having so much easy stuff that I’ve been seeing. I don’t like that extra sparkling crap when you use boost and stuff I’m gonna do it like an OG and I’m gonna enjoy it. I hope that I can do that. I hope I don’t have to use stupid stuff. I don’t think Spider-Man you have electricity I don’t think Spider-Man should be able to have a wing suit made out of web. It’s complete holes I don’t know how that’s even possible.

There is still a ton of handholding even with assist off. there arent real siwnging physics, they are 3d animation based, not physics based. the webs arent real objects that interact with the obstacles, they phases through them, they are simply cosmetic. Saying that it makes the swinging physics real is objectively wrong. You just dont notice it because it sells the physics really well. It looks cools, but that's about it. A fanservice shitfest if you will. It,s great for casual gamers who want to have midless swinging across the city, but not for the clearly neglected fanbase who would love to have a new spiderman that'a based on what,s still considered as the gold standard for swinging physics to this day: Spiderman 2 PS2 from 2004.
