Kevin Mcg i also own a solid gaming pc, but i mostly use it to play total war games along with other pc only exclusives. I also own a ps4 pro and 30fps never bothered me.. as long we the frame pacing is stable. And since on pc i sit around 7 feet away from my tv the visuals look pretty good to me.

For me personally, the story was my favorite part. I loved all of the character interactions, motivations, and arcs. I felt *invested* in each character. From the police captain to Jefferson. I loved all the characters and following them around and fleshing out their relationships with Peter was so much fun.

Gotta disagree with you on one point, now that I've actually played the game myself. The story is phenomenal. Better than any of the movies, just as good as the comics. Sure, I can see what you mean with the pacing being a little awkward at times, and yeah it's predictable, but that doesn't mean it wasn't the best Spider-Man story I've gotten in a long time. Not to mention the voice acting and animation in this game are 10/10. Insomniac chose to go and make a Spider-Man game that would be remembered, and I believe they blew that goal out of the park. (Edit) I feel like I should clarify, I don't mind that any of the plot twists didn't surprise me, I'm guessing, because I read marvel comics a long time ago, and for just about 6 years now, every single marvel movie has gone exactly as I expected without a single surprise whatsoever. Winter soldier announced, I knew it was Bucky. Saw a poster for Thor the Dark World showing Malakith and I knew exactly what would happen. I absolutely expected Thanos to win at the end of Infinity War and for there to be a second part. I don't expect anything marvel related to surprise me anymore. The only thing that actually DID surprise me was the LACK of Age of Ultron part 2, or Civil War part 2. Those stories kinda got left hanging a little. So I generally just don't expect to be surprised by marvel anymore, and honestly, that doesn't mean I enjoy it any less. I love this universe, and every new story I get out of it makes me happy.

I think the story is quite good, though not quite elite by either video game (God of War, The Last of Us, etc.) or Spiderman (Into the Spiderverse, Spiderman 2) standards. I'd probably rate it like an 8 or 9 out of 10, whereas the gameplay is a 10.

The only things that have put me off so far are the lack of villains and side quests that add to the world. Its really bizarre that with spiderman you pick some of the least interesting villains when even the PS2 games had Mysterio.

I was wondering about your appraisal of the combat system, specifically related to enemy AIs. It must be a fine balance in creating this; not making it feel like you are OP with abysmal AI/enemies, but also not making it feel like your enemies never die and that Spiderman is underpowered. I was wondering about your thoughts on this in this game. Are basic enemies pure fodder in large quantities? And if so, does it matter when boss fights have great depth and set pieces?

What I thought was funny is that a minute ago everyone was saying IGN was shilling because it came out with the puddlegate video. And now they're saying IGN was unfair to Spider-Man, even though it somehow managed to give the game the score that most closely resembles the metacritic score (so it's arguably the most objective score out there). IGN is the scapegoat for all of gamers frustrations it seems.

I don't go to IGN for my reviews. I go to guys like SkillUP, ACG, and DreamcastGuy. But that doesn't mean I can't be objective about IGN and say that while they do so many things wrong, they are still scapegoated for a lot of the industries problems that they don't even have anything to do with. And that bothers me because as long as that happens the problems don't get resolved. Like the paddle gate thing. It was stupid. It undermines the actual downgrade issue. So is the idea that IGN is being unfair by giving it an 8.7. We often complain about IGN being too liniant and when they give a score that appears to be more reflective of the quality of the actual game, we get upset. So we are telling them to keep giving every game a 9/10. This is what I mean by problem doesn't get resolved. Also, IGN is a company that employees lots of writers. Some do a decent job, some don't. I don't go to them because I need more consistency than this, but I'm not going to just call every one of their reviews bad because "IGN Bad."

probably won't be competing with GoW for best exclusive since that game has already entered the game of a generation discussion but everyone is saying great things about Spider-Man. Go out and buy it without reservation and then make your personal decision. Might be the best exclusive for you. Right now It's a fight between Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Uncharted 4, and Bloodborne for me. With my personal favorite probably going to Horizon Zero Dawn on most days.

I really enjoyed this brief review and wish you would do more like this. I don't really like spending a netflix episode's worth of time on a game review but I enjoy your views on games and gaming in general (Laymen Gaming is the most entertaining games news channel). What I wanted to request from you, is to put up secondary reviews of games you do review in your original format (analogies, in depth discussions and everything in between). I understand and respect the time you take to play these games and prepare your script for the reviews, but I would appreciate if you could put shorter 15-20 minutes reviews (that's not really short but I do want the information you give out) for the people who enjoy your content and can't or don't want to spend too much time on a review. And of course this is your channel and you can choose to completely ignore this comment and keep doing what you are doing. This is primarily a request and I at the very least would appreciate if you did something like this. Thanks for all content mate and have a good time making it.

The story is great and you'll end up really caring for these characters. Also you do have to do the side stuff to collect tokens to unlock new suits, gadgets, and upgrades. Most of the side stuff is pretty enjoyable and easy so it's not really a problem. Boss fights are eh, some are great and cinematic, others are just... alright. The rest of the review is correct.

Skill in regards to the graphics thing, there is no doubt the game in it's present state is absolutely beautiful, I think the complaint was more based on the principal of the matter, because you have to admit the E3 graphics do look a lot more sharper, I think it's more about promising something and then not getting what is promised. So many people are so suspicious of authority now a days that people will nit pick anything. Great review as usual:)
