Not sure if this is the end of Tom Hiddleston's Loki. At least, not quite yet. Marvel has already announced a season 2 for the show and Hiddleston has been very clear about how much he loves playing the character. He could be around for awhile (which is more than fine by me).

It could be similar to Coulson in Agents of SHIELD like he's alive in the series but not in the movie narrative-wise. So he can do all kinds of time travel shenanigans across the multiverse without affecting the main storyline of the movies (except for maybe an easter egg in Multiverse of Madness?).

After looking at this trailer I remembered what Feigi said on Disney Investor day presentation of this show , "He will be at the centre of his own crime thriller." Makes so much more sense now. And this looks like it could be such a great show for MCU.

Fun Fact about the TVA: In the comics when the concept was created by Thor writer Walt Simonson, he made the entire staff of the TVA (anyone who isnt a manager/executive) identical clones, based on and modeled after famous Marvel editor Mark Gruenwald. Mark was iconic for being both incredibly passionate about Marvel comics as well as possessing a photographic memory. He almost singlehandedly maintained the entire Marvel Comics timeline & continuity just because of his memory, other writers/artists would come to him and ask questions so they wouldnt disrupt it. He LITERALLY wrote the book on Marvel, he wrote a 15 volume encyclopedia series titled "The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe" in 1982. So Walt Simonson figured there would be nobody better/no better way to honor him than base the official record keepers of the Marvel Universe on Mark. Unfortunately Mark passed a few years ago, so im hopeful that Kevin Feige will pay homage to his character in the comics

The authenticity part hit me hard this morning, comparing you to what else is out there. I think they refer to him as a Loki variant because he is simply from the alternate reality created in Endgame when he took the Tesseract, a variant to the main timeline Loki who met his fate in Infinity War. I don't think they meant they tried this with multiple Lokis. I totally agree I NEED THEM TO CONFIRM CAP HAD AN ALTERNATE LIFE.

I am just so in love with the MCU right now. Even when things aren’t perfect, like I have some criticism about Falcon and the Winter Soldier, they’re keeping things different and complex. Everything is still so good and exciting. No repetitious origin story. They’re using the using the shared universe to it’s full potential.

...but that could refer to how THOR could resurrect all the Asgardians who died using the Odinforce. And in the comics when Thor has done that, Loki came back as a woman, or a teen kid. So it could still mean the end of Hiddleston, but that the sun will shine on Asgardians again.

@@clairemallet3778 Anything's possible. But Thor and Jane Foster are different characters. Loki and Teen Loki and Lady Loki are all the same character, in different forms. And even though I would LOVE for Hiddleston to play the role as long as he wants, Robert Downey Jr. AND Chris Evans "retired" from their extremely popular roles that they loved playing, so that might happen with Tom Hiddleston someday, too. We gotta be prepared for that eventuality, lol.

I am a giant fan of Loki and to even imagine that this show could be a send-off to Tom Hiddleston kind of breaks my heart. I know that we can't have him forever but I'll be mourning him for the longest time. AND YET... The kid loki idea seems very much likely because slowly we've been presented with the young-avengers and if they go that route, loki might as well put himself in a teenager's body and be part of that whole thing. It would be the most sensible way to go with his cooky, chaotic and fun character.

They addressed this in Endgame (hulk and the ancient one). By returning the stones to the exact time and place from when they were taken, they essentially solved the timeline issue at the exact same moment it was created

According to the paper he asked loki to sign, this is the 1304 version of loki if i can see it right. It says 1304 variant. The first variant is the loki that died in infinity war. So him taking tesseract caused at least 1300 different variants of loki. That can make many episodes to come.

What if Steve had a son or daughter with Peggy?? Because in the “Next Avengers”comics in 2011, they bring in the Son Steve and Black Widow had after they got married. So maybe they introduce a version of that but it was him and Peggy that had him. Just a thought to all the things this could lead to.

I wonder how many avengers are still alive, if any, in this Loki's timeline (especially since we see a brief shot of NY/avengers tower really destroyed). Seems like this Loki show can be a "what if?" live action opportunity too to a certain extent. Remember Hiddleston was initialy trying to be cast as Thor? Won't be surprised if Loki will somehow hold mjolnir ^^

Here’s a theory the TVA is only maintaining that time stream so Kane the conqueror can achieve his goal. When Loki messes up the time stream they need to reset it so Kane can take over...but Loki will let the time streams splinter setting up the next Marvel universe

This loki took the tesseract from 2012, and hasn't done anything to really break the reality YET (because he got captured right away), even if he did already breaking the timeline by simply taking the tesseract, doesn't he only responsible for breaking timeline from 2012 onward? But It looks like the TVA will make loki fix every "broken" timeline (before 2012 and after 2012) whether he causes it or not, which is interesting. Can't wait

I know this has been going around, but I personally think that the blond person we've seen in the Loki trailers is acutally Lady Loki. Sure, the blond hair matches Black Widow, but it would make sense. Loki is going to different realities, and if he's going to different realities, then he's going to run into Lady Loki at some point.

Hector, I don't think Loki can go back & allow Thor to take him to Asgard and let things play out the way it did in the prime timeline, because didn't Hulk say that you can't change your past? if Loki went back in time to 2012, he'd be creating another alternate timeline, and even he prevents that 2012 Loki from escaping & going to Asgard the way prime Loki did, he's still there (like how 2023 Tony was in the same room as 2012 Tony). Hopefully, if the TVA can timeline-hop, Loki uses it to jump to the main timeline.

I think 'Lady Loki' is actually the Enchantress since she's blonde which Loki never is. And we know Enchantress will definitely be in the show
