CGI is mostly when something is "transformed" into something else. Like Mark Ruffallo being transformed into the Hulk. Something like Thunder, Fire, etc are VISUAL EFFECTS put ON TOP of something. Thus they are called VFX. So VFX would be proper term to use not CGI. Spideys costume being edited to animate the eyes is CGI, Captain America (Falcons) costume being edited to seem like a TIGHT FIT is CGI. The Magic Circles of Strange is VFX, the Thunder of Thor is VFX.
