That *something* about Tom might best be described as not having can't or no in your vocabulary. The most interesting thing about Tom is what he does behind the scenes of a production or franchise to make sure that it is the best he can possibly make it, and then he proceeds to do that even when it's absolutely impossible and no one has ever done it before, pun intended, and proceeds not to tell anyone what he did to ensure that you have one of the best movie going experiences of your life when you go to see one of his movies. He realizes it's not important the why and the how in the long run, but it is important what feeling you are left with after seeing the movie, because even if he tells you all the stuff that he did behind the scenes to make sure that everything goes off without a hitch you will remember the movie experience and how you felt for far longer then the details of how he got there against the odds no one else would touch.

Tom cruise and his brand of cinema including the daredevilry is one of the reasons why people still throng to the cinemas despite the OTT onslaught. Mission Impossible series, Top Gun etc. These movies are best enjoyed on big screen. No hidden agenda, no preachy stuff. The funny thing is you probably say you're not a Tom Cruise fan because he questioned the pharmaceutical companies on mainstream news which gets 70% of the revenue from pharmaceutical companies. So even though he's a religion is a little bit out there. You were told by the media years ago not to like him. I love how the entire teaser, especially the background score is designed like a last act, an epilogue. It doesn't start soft, rise to a crescendo and then get melancholic, like regular teasers / trailers. It starts off intense and sad and stays there throughout.
