I’m thinking about buying this game from a local game store tomorrow morning. I’m already a huge fan of UMVC3. So ever since I saw they had MVC2, I’ve been eying it down like a hawk. This video is super helpful and is just what I needed to make sure that I actually wanted this. You’re awesome man 🤙

You know now they also have this game on switch and PS4 now right? It’s called the Marvel Vs Capcom fighting collection. It has Marvel VS Capcom 2 and others. Didn’t know if you wanted it just because of ps2 or not. But, if you don’t know about it here it is for modern consoles. a.co/d/gr5fyLo

I own it also it broke my PS2 and PS3 consoles so get ready to break your PS2 or PS3 from marvel Vs capcom 2 this is just one of the games that breaks your PS2 it’s not the only one your PS2 will still turn on but won’t read every PS2 game and it won’t read or play any PSX games that’s how the PS2 breaks the PS3 just doesn’t show the dashboard anymore or it stays black can’t see anything Sony did a bad job on their consoles the only consoles that can handle marvel Vs capcom 2 is Sega Dreamcast and original Xbox the PlayStation is just to weak

I’ve never had any issue with my ps2 and ps3 consoles. Maybe you just had a weak ps2.

@@TwistedGamingTVsorry but it did it to 10 PS2 it broke 10 go watch on KZbin what PS2 breaks your PS2 it’s a fact that it breaks consoles like PS2 I own every console cause I stopped playing marvel Vs capcom 2 my PS3 hasn’t broke ever since then or my other PS2 I own the marvel Vs capcom 2 arcade 1 up that has the arcade rom that’s way better then the console version don’t need to unlock every character I’m done with PS2 your not playing on PS5 your missing out on the best games no new releases are coming to PS2 I’m moving forward not going backwards

@@TwistedGamingTV Sorry it’s not me that’s having bad luck your console is going to break just give it time you can try to lie it never broke the console but it will break that’s why Sony removed the PS2 games being playable on the PS3 cause some PS2 games were breaking the PS3 your PS3 60 gb never broke that’s cause you didn’t yet play marvel Vs capcom 2 on it a lot for days if you want to play marvel Vs capcom 2 on the PS3 you should of bought the digital version when you had the chance now is too late it’s not going to break your PS3 I play that one on my PS3 but I’ll never play the PS2 version there is no more PS2 PS3 to replace your on your own the game isn’t going to break it’s your console that’s going to break and Sony is selling the PS2 games on the PS3 PSN store that doesn’t break PS3 consoles like capcom Vs SNK 2

I used to have Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PlayStation 2 but it got destroyed during Hurricane Sandy back in 2012. I still had the Sega Dreamcast version and now... I will be playing it on the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection game when the physical copies come out about less than a week before Thanksgiving.

I bought this game Christmas 03-04 school year, freshman year. with a pair of dunks and an ecko sweater. I loved this game.

I have both Dreamcast and ps2 MvC2. Originally i have it on Dreamcast which I bought at that time for $50. The ps2 version which I bought 10 years ago for $30. Im guessing this game has risen because of the demand and limited production. I suggest most people should shop on either PAL and Japanese version to get a cheaper price tag.

Japanese versions don’t play on U.S. PlayStation though.

@@TwistedGamingTVNo auto-load is present on the Japanese PS2 version, despite being the cheapest home version. I suggest you use SwapMagic to play imports if your system's modded.

I only own the xbox 360 version which is digital and have been on the fence about getting a physical copy of the dreamcast version or maybe the ps2 or xbox, but with the Marvel vs Capcom Collection on the horizon I'll wait and see how that stacks to decide then. Nice video and glad you are enjoying your copy of the game! \m/

Yeah I want to say the Dreamcast is the best versions on consoles but since I got this copy I do have Marvel vs Capcom 2 Arcade now.

I found the NAOMI version. The audio has more punch to it due to NAOMI having twice the sound memory to the Dreamcast counterpart. Still the ps3/xbox360 version has the widescreen option, which I thought made the background stand out more but made the sprites tiny.

Way ahead of its time, my dad got me this game for Christmas back in the day. It was a toy r us exclusive. Sold it to buy a PSP in middle school. Regret it! I gotta copy of silent hill 2 tho, much rather play this game.

That's amazing bro...tbh any hot title on the PS2 has only been jacked up in price! This one for those who know had a limited physical run, before that was a thing. Lol Capcom only printed a few and boy it's something of so rare to see. 🎉

Yeah they had a low number run of these on ps2. Xbox had a bigger run and so did the Dreamcast.

Just reading these comments after buying mine. Guess I got lucky. Paid $113 after taxes for a ps2 copy with manual and all. I pre ordered the fighting collection for both ps4 and Nintendo switch too 😅

The sad thing about the PS3 version you can’t get it anymore at all. In the future all games will be digital on modern consoles. Physical will go away some day.

1:40 Most likely you got Cyclops as a striker, as striker characters are randomized each match. They can perform special moves for you if you are in a tough situation.

Good thing I got my Sega Dreamcast copy for $25-$30 back in the day. Also got the Original Xbox version that I got from Toys R Us for $20.00 brand new back then. You definitely need to get the Sega Dreamcast version either Japanese or US copy. 🙂

I live a 20 minute walk away from a Retro Game Trader that has this Game on Ps2 going for 290$ or higher i think. Im so upset that the Arcade1up hasnt been able to port the Marvel Vs Capcom Arcade Collection to consoles this generation,especially with the terrible Marvel vs Capcom Infinite killing itself in its lackluster return. Hopefully with the Rights to the Xmen/Fantastic 4 firmly in Disney's Hands and their willingness to actually partner with Game devs Again will give Capcom another chance to return.

You can get it a few ways. -Dreamcast version which is the original version. -ps3 digital version -emulate rom PAL and or Japanese version (which are cheaper than US version) Arcade1up of MVC2 (include many other pricey games) $600.

I gave away the North American PS2 version to a friend in Livermore, California. Right now, I have the Japanese Xbox version that I paid for $90, and I bought it to check if it had auto-load, and it did. Not to mention the ISO dump online (Roms Megathread) is broken and cannot be converted into an Xbox XISO.
