I appreciate and love First Blood. It was a movie that needed to be made due to showing that not everyone that came back truly ever came home and the shameful treatment they got. Was it over the top? ...Ya. This is the 80's we didn't DO subtle back then. It hada good blend of action and thoughtfulness. And Rambo's breakdown at the end? Stallone proved he can act. THird movie just strikes me as funny as 'oh hey we used to big up these guys gee wonder how that worked out.

_John Rambo has a very specific set of skills that make him a nightmare for people like the abductors. If they let his niece go now, that'll be the end of it. He will not look for them, He will not pursue them. But if they don't, he will look for them, He will find them, and he will kill them._ Sylvester Stallone is "John Rambo" in _Taken_ , shem, er-- I mean _Rambo: Last Blood_ ! ;)

Rambo movie tier list: 1.) First Blood Has the best-written and most engaging story. Gritty and action packed, though still presented in a believable way. Ironically, none of the sequels ever replicated the same tone or themes of the first movie (particularly the immediate follow-ups), and as such, it stands on its own as being the most unique of the franchise. 2.) Rambo (IV) Easily the most brutal and gory entry in the series, with a tone that is noticeably more dark and serious. The only downside is perhaps the lack of character development for Rambo himself and the lack of any significant references to prior entries. The movie feels more like it was intended to be a harrowing depiction of the real-life horrors going on in Burma (and the depth of human depravity) than any attempt to actually explore Rambo's character. At least it had that ending scene which was a nod to the beginning of the first film. Wouldn't have been the worst way to cap off the series. 3.) Rambo: Last Blood An entertaining modern action movie in the vein of John Wick, with some heavy themes involving family and loss. The death of Rambo's neice is probably the most heartbreaking moment in the series and her death 2/3s through the movie was actually a bit shocking. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't look or feel like a Rambo movie - in fact, Rambo neither looks nor acts like himself either. At no point did I ever believe this version of Rambo to be the same guy from the previous movies. Coupled along with the lack of any references to any of the prequels makes this movie feel like it could have been a standalone action flick with a different title, with zero changes needing to be made to the movie (aside from Rambo's name). While it's cool to see a different kind of setting and action for the series, it just feels too disconnected to feel like a proper finale for Rambo's character arc or the series in general. 4.) Rambo: First Blood II A 'fun' 80s action movie with some of the most memorable scenes in the series. Has a good message regarding corruption in war, and the Vietnam setting and POWs plot point does at least tie in to Rambo's established history (a point that isn't really ever adhered to again in any of the follow-ups). The biggest drawback is the tone shift from the first movie - Rambo 2 feels much more over the top and at times completely unbelievable, almost like a cartoon (which it did in fact wind up spawning). 5.) Rambo III A decent 80s action flick much like Rambo 2, though not nearly as memorable. Much like Rambo 4, the story setup seems disinterested in exploring or advancing Rambo's character and instead just seems like an excuse to shove Rambo into whatever international war / struggle was topical at the time (in this case, Afghanistan vs Russia). Rambo is presented much like he was in Part 2 - an unstoppable superhuman - and you never feel like he's ever in danger of actually being killed. However, the capture of Trautman at least adds some emotional weight (at least until he's rescued and winds up totally fine by the end of the movie).

If there is to be another "Rambo" film made, I think that it would have to set in a style of a prequel where a younger Rambo is trained in the Marines--sort of like in "Full Metal Jacket". Next, he along with his comrades are sent to Vietnam to battle against the Viet Cong. Along the way, they are captured, tortured, & killed as Rambo watches. Rambo would then be forced to fight his way to survival. He survives but ends up suffering from PTSD, The political climate during the time of the Vietnam War could serve as the backdrop and the montage of this imagined "Rambo" film. The movie, from a historical point, would have to cover the ugly fact of war crimes being committed by both the Viet Cong and the US military and its allies--like "Platoon" tried to do. At least, that what I would think that this imagined "Rambo" film would be like at this point.

Bro ever since I was a little kid I lived off Rambo 1st blood part 2, infact that was the 1st Rambo film I saw and it helped me through my PTSD ( before I even knw I had it cos back then it didn't have a name and the bullying I suffered, your video was very well done and edited really well, you did 4get 1 fact about the RAMBO film (4th 1) it was the film that had the most kills in the 1st 10 mins than any other at the time, BUT this video was a well thought through and made it want to make me wanna watch the films and you taught me facts I didn't knw, 1 thing tho I littery thought of as I'm typing this the theme song 'A Long Road' YOU LEFT IT OUT, there was no info on if it was made for the film or wether it was just picked for the film cos it seems to be the Rambo theme song which is used throughout the franchise, ANYWAY absolute BRILLIANT VIDEO and that you cos it was a brilliant watch ❤❤❤❤❤

Little did I know, stunned by this video being half an hour long, that you're also now making full-movie-length opuses on your channel. I wonder where this new trend is coming from? It's a shame though, I would love watching a video exploring the Rambo saga if it was under 20 minutes, or preferably even 15. But these new time spans are too much.

I've just found out a few things about Rambo: Although Rambo appears to be a butch action stereotype, the character of John Rambo is actually a broken and emotional man. He has witnessed all of his friends die, he was not loved as a child, he faced unbearable terrors in Vietnam, returned to a country that rejected him, then was seduced back into combat where he killed hundreds more people before finally being left alone and miserable, unable to forgive himself for what he has done. At one point, Rambo stated that he had wasted his life fighting for things he thought he believed in. By the end of the series, Rambo hates himself and has lost his faith in humanity, God and the concept that things will get better for the world, due in no small part because of the horrors of war he experienced. Rambo did get better at the end of the series when he returned home, but he is no doubt plagued by nightmares from his post-traumatic stress disorder

Personally I loved the first 3 Rambo films. First Blood was the very first R rated movie I ever saw, and even then the story was great. All things considered, and after what those hick cops DID to him, John Rambo would have been more than justified had he killed that arrogant airhead sheriff, Will Teasle. “God didn’t create Rambo; I created Rambo!” - Col. Sam Trautman. “They drew first blood, sir. They drew first blood.” Rambo II was far better as it was topical (actually the first three movies were, which was why they worked, and their successors weren’t) as it dealt with MIAs in ‘Nam. Seeing Rambo destroy a Soviet camp and that overrated Spetznaz squad gave an emotional catharsis over the South East Asian debacle. “What I want- What WE want- is for our country to love us, as we love it!” Rambo III was a look into the Afghan conflict, which indeed was a Soviet Vietnam. It also showed his loyalty and comaraderie he has to and shares with Col. Trautman. Great video.

Decent video however I have to point out that Rambo wasn't the titular role in First Blood. In the following sequels he is. Titular applies to the title of movie and the name Rambo is not in the title First Blood. Also Co Bao WAS NOT A CIA AGENT!!!!!!! She worked for a South Vietnamese Intelligence Agency formerly occupied by her late father. Also as a veteran myself I can undoubtedly tell you that an M60 IS CONSIDERED A LIGHT MACHINE GUN NOT HEAVY. It is issued to a 60 Gunner and stays with him. Never would be left unattended in the back of a truck. Video is decent but your research technique is sorely in need of improvement.
