I don't know how the Spectre hasn't had a top notch movie(s) and show(s) because he is way cooler than any character D.C. Comics has made film for. Some of the best comic art is Spectre art and most of it from past comic ages. I think/thought some of the times he looks huge in the comics is when he is in the astral plane (and may be omnipresent watching all) but I am not sure.

It's not an instant thing. It slowly drains his powers. If he was sun dipped before he got to your part of the galaxy he would still most likely win. Especially if he used his black suit to charge up. It retains solar power.

There are literally innumerable gods in DC. And that's just the canon ones. It makes sense to distinguish him. If you count Preacher for instance, that probably wasn't him or canon. So it makes sense to distinguish him from that God if nothing else. Unless Preacher Is canon? But this seems unlikely given the different cosmology.

The cloak should stay and have a more complex appearance (texture/pattern). Since the character is of cosmic mystical origin, I believe using energy, or fluids, in his appearance with be fitting.
