After all of this, I can see why Orion Pictures went the route that they did. It would have cost a fortune to get all of that on the big screen, and Orion was a struggling film company at the time. It is interesting how many of Frank Miller’s ideas eventually did make their way into RoboCop 2 and 3.

@chadwik4000 Жыл бұрын
@@varanid9 yeah, I thought it was due to some of the graphic nature of some of the stuff. A good example of something like this would be to read A Clockwork Orange, preferably the one with the Final Chapter intact (as the American printing had the last chapter removed as to more closely match the movie) then watch the film. There's stuff in the book that they could never have put in a feature film back then without having it rated x. Example, the two girls Alex invites back to hear angel trumpets and devil trombones with, in the book, we're both about 9 years old and he gets them drunk, injects some kind of sexual enhancement drug maybe speed in a vein in his hand, then proceeds to brutally raped both the girls before kicking them out. In the movie everything was consensual and the two girls we're both Alex's same age.

Robocops mouth isnt the only vunerable part of him...his mouth isnt like Batmans...its not a human skull under the visor..Alex Murphys face is stretched over a robot face to make him appear more human to people,people forget theres very little of a human inside the cyborg,his vunerable bits are his human brain and wherever his processors are which could be placed in his chest or back or anywhere so finding a vunerable spot would require a deep knowledge of Robocops systems.
@robbylebotha Жыл бұрын
I don't know which Robocop you watched but it's Alex's head and brain, they augmented his brain with computer bits. It's not human skin stretched over a robot skull. They literally show his head in all the movies. He has a natural head, hand, spinal cord, lungs. He gets IV fed a black goo concoction to keep these human parts alive. Maybe you are referring to the cartoons/comics. I dunno. But in the movies, you are wrong. His head is a human head, with human eyes, that's why he needs the helmet to have a HUD.
@robbylebotha Жыл бұрын
He still has lungs because his brain need oxygen to survive. He run on both CPU and brain. That's what makes him Robocop and not just a robot. So no, he's literally not just all robot
@sushicakez Жыл бұрын
@@robbylebothaI dont know what version you watched either, but you're wrong on everything you just said. His face is stretched on a robot head. The only parts that are human still are his lungs and brain and rudementary digestive system to give nutrients to his organic parts. He doesnt get IV fed with black goo, theres litterally a scene where they show what he eats and that it tastes like baby food. And also the scene in Robocop 2 where his wife visits him and she touches his face and says its cold then telling her Alex Murphy is dead. If you watched the first movie you know theres a scene where they mention they saved the left arm, but have it removed because they agreed to full body prosthesis. He also doesnt need the helmet to have a HUD, theres a scene in the first movie where Anne is helping him adjust his aim and you can see he has a the targeting HUD with his helmet off.
