Apocalypse is an inconsistently written villian. Frankly, he should be right up there with Dr. Doom, and be able to punch up to lower cosmic level. I think Thanos is still above him due to cosmic power, but Apocalypse should be a really tough challenge. He can give himself any power he wants, is a technopath with Celestial tech, and a fairly powerful mystic himself.

The Black Winter has always been a favourite of mine not sure how old it is though, but since Galactus is terrified of it I can safely assume it's as old if not older. As for Thanos vs Apocalypse. Debatable. His goal is to consume earth and its billions of inhabitants but thats only his goal because he is the universal force of entropy. Hes not doing it because he hates humans or because he wants to destroy earth but he's still going to try to do it. He's definitely not evil but I'd say he is a villain . By the same logic skynet or Ultron aren't evil but they are the villains in their stories.

Thanos is one of the weakest Marvil villains. And not having Knull is a shame, he existed before the Celestials and one of the most powerful in MCU.

Held his own against Odin, in Asgard. Challenged Tyrant, a Galactus-level foe, and survived. Beat an immature Beyonder. Traded blows with a Phoenxforce backed Thane. Blasted Galactus miles away(then lost, but it’s Galactus). Held his own against Ego the Living Planet. Tanked Black Bolts scream three times in a row at point blank range. Recently, he stood toe to toe with Mistress Death, and eventually turned her into an Infinity stone. Plus, he pound Thor, killed Captain Marvel and 5 of 6 Infinity watch members. Far from weak. Sure, Knull is more powerful, but Thanos has attained more power than Knull has ever displayed. With the Gauntlet, Thanos would snap Knull out of existence. He could probably beat Knull with just a cosmic cube. Point is, Thanos is, at least, a universal level threat because of his scheming mind. In terms of base power, he is atleast Solar System level. That is nothing to sneeze at.

Well this isn’t completely true. Dark crisis states that the great darkness isn’t good or evil.. the great darkness isn’t the presences counterpart. He just wasn’t created by the presences. Technically if the presences is the supreme being in the verse, then he is somewhat responsible for the evil as well… But most supreme being in dc are beyond the concept of polar opposite (good and evil, light and dark, men and women etc).

Perhaps some of you have seen the TV show The Highlander, based on the movies of the same name. The continuity between the movies is… just awful. The TV show, the short-lived spin off show, and the couple OTHER movies that came from this show are… Anyway, look at the show by itself, without trying to make sense of it in the context of the other stuff. It’s no dumber than Knight Rider. (An actual human level AI, and they use it to drive the car, and answer phone calls? You could literally tell that AI to cure cancer, but whatever. My point is that it was well loved and watched for years. The Highlander show isn’t better, but it isn’t worse. I bring it up because allllll of the immortals, and the covert international organization set to watch them, agree that the oldest immortal is Mythos, if he existed at all. Then we meet him (Paul Winfield was such a wasted resource.) and he mentions that he’s not the oldest. He was the youngest one of the Four Horsemen, and the other three are still also alive. The man hadn’t touched a weapon in decades. He posed as a member of the group watching the immortals. He was assigned the task of finding… himself. He was intentionally bad at it, and had set up his HQ to a bit of consecrated land. Neil Gaiman introduced Lucifer as a character. He was sharing power with other lords of Hell. Because he was bored, and didn’t feel like micromanaging stuff all the time. Trigon and Darkseid are of similar strength. But Lucifer had to send agents to do some stuff for him, because the universe the stuff was in could not survive him being in them. Apocalypse is a big deal on earth. Nobody else cared. Had he risen at any other point, he might get Thor on him, he might have gotten Odin. Hell, if Gor wasn’t in play, any number of gods might have objected to his shenanigans.
