What a Man! Marvellous Marvin Hagler will be remembered as the best middleweight till the day of resurrection! Although he was the Man who destroyed our national hero of the 70s when he literally expelled our boxer Loucif Hammani out of the ring in a sad cold February morning 1980! I fight tears every time I watch his videos. He was truly Marvellous inside and outside of the rings. RIP Marvellous Marvin Hagler 😭

Hagler oh how after over 30 years you’ve been gone from the middleweight division has the boxing world 🌍 missed you. It was an honour to have shaken your right hand and what a HUGE hand it was. I can see why it destroyed people 🤙🥊

Oh boy, what a class act Marvin was. The challenger could throw a punch, but a champ has to take it as well!

Well said, he ducked him for nearly a decade until haggler was passed his prime and he still got beat, but he had the judges in his pocket..!! Marv was the King 👑

Sugar Ray wasn't just a boxer. He was a celebrity a shrewd businessman. A crafty manager. He fought a fading Hagler but still had put down his own conditions to his advantage. A much larger ring and 12 rounds instead of 15. He displayed his masterpiece in the noble art no doubt about that. To say he won the fight, not really! He won the hearts yes! Hagler couldn't do what he had done to all his previous opponents, now that's an achievement for sugar who had come out of retirement of 5 long years. Both were masters never to be replaced. We miss them we miss that golden era.

@@johnmc3862 Sugar Ray was a natural welterweight he had fire in his hands and legs. Marvin was a smaller version of Mike Tyson. They never met at their peeks as a result. Sugar was more than just an average black boxer. He was a shrewd businessman. No wonder he kept all his fortune, well done Ray👍

SRL didn’t want this Marvin. He tactically fought Marvin later on, and in my opinion still lost, albeit it in a VERY close fight - two judges had it a couple of rounds ahead for either fighter (fair enough), one judge had Hagler TEN rounds down. Clearly this man couldn’t trusted to judge a wet t shirt contest never mind the middleweight title, as it was VERY close, whoever you fought won. I think Hagler was robbed, of the win, but with that final scorecard his dignity too - there is NO WAY that fight was more than one or two rounds for the victor. I personally had Hagler by two rounds.

Hammani was meant to be world champion in 1976/1977. He was very elusive and very fast with both hands and legs. Three years out of action four years older (, born 1950) never fought at middleweight before, Hammani had no chance whatsoever against the prime Hagler. Even the great sugar had to wait seven more years to share the ring with Hagler, it shows you who Hagler really was!!!

@@mohandsghir8573 I thought he was a very skilful boxer hamani just a shame he had to be in marvs era ☮️👍but I have to tell you haggler chased Leonard for 7 years but Leonard wouldn’t fight him until he was past his prime and I still say to this day that fight was fixed, marv won hands down I watched it live with my dad..He could have gone 100 rounds and he still couldn’t knock marv down..!! Marv was the king of the big 4 and all of them have since admitted it too..Unfortunately marv had to fight the boxing federation as well as the fighters, but everyone knows who the greatest is in 2021 and rightfully so..❤️☮️

@@Roscoe.P.Coldchain Hammani was never known as big puncher compared to the American Kings of the ring but in Europe he had left his marks during the golden 70s. Very elusive almost impossible to land gloves on him. He had a beautiful style a great artist no wonder he was robbing shoulders with The high cream of Parisien elite namely the very popular actors Alain Dellon Jean Paul Belmondo ! Alan Minter was floored by Hammani three times during the 1972 Olympics yet Minter awarded the victory. To keep someone like Hammani three years out of the ring then send him to face Hagler was a pure farce. Also some boxers reach the peak at early 20 like Tyson others mature up at a much later years like holyfield and lennox Lewis. Hammani was let down by his entourage at a time where he was inches away from the world title. And that was 1976/1977. 1980, he was merely his own shadow. Welterweight never middleweight.

@@Roscoe.P.Coldchain yes! Thanks be to God. Enjoying his village at the top of a famous mountain in North of Algeria. Hammani held several grades at Algerian Embassies throughout his career and beyond. He shows signs of fatigue and trembling hands at times. This is what boxing leaves with so many unfortunately. Hammani was meant to be joined by Marvellous Marvin Hagler at his home town back in 2019. City Council had organised a big gathering in recognition of Hammani's achievements during his glorious career. Covid smashed the dream of so many guests travelling from abroad.
