As a reggae musician I play steel Pulse on my car ,this music has a lot of keyboards in it,very hard to duplicate studio music live,but in this concert they change some musicians and the mix was horrible,anyway I still like STEEL PULSE ,Hinds still sounds good RESPECT

@TheXaimaca. I understand where you're coming from Bruddah. However, remember that when Reggae started to develop in JA in the 1960's... It was partly because the Jamaican Bands who were doing Ska & Rock Steady started increasingly listening to & being influenced by Gospel, Blues, Soul, and R&B music. I believe what you're hearing in this performance is the keyboardists & other guys using gospel & jazz chords in the transitions between chunes & then also throwing in subtle licks & influences from numerous other music styles. (Yuh see deh audience, right? So dem haffi broaden deh appeal). Deh essence of the music is still there. -Roots Reggae- Jah Bless Bruddah...

Thanks for the zealous reply, I share the substance, technically, but I am for zero polemics, zero provocations, I just meant that, as an elderly person, I do not always share the musical evolution of historical bands such as '' Steel Pulse ''. Do not appreciate does not mean to not accept or understand. I could throw myself into philosophical lucubrations about relationship or symbiosis between '' RootsRastaReggae '' and '' Lyrics '', and between '' Music Research and Social Commitment and Traditions '' but you are quite learned and you will understand me the same. RRRESPECT

Man I hope the old lead guitarist comes back, this new guy doesn't serve the music, he serves him self. It's evident on how he sets up his sound, and how he chopped his solos. This guy should really study tapes to see how the last guy laid it down.

problem is quality of video not too good, still they ought to go back to them real roots, they seem to be avoiding those their hard roots, songs like of the..tribute to the martyrs, island anthology etc. in their concerts for long now.. due to possible confrontations from babylon..me thinkss,,
@kushuk23606 жыл бұрын
I agree with you brotha Frank , One must be WISE not FOOLISH when you doing concerts in Babylon. Steel Pulse has done very well in this time and I would not KNOCK DEM for this as they STANDING thought the test of times. SELAH

The horns could play more Carribean lines instead of doubling background vocals. Horns can play skanking lines like in Ska. SP is one of my fav. Reggae groups. Sometimes live new reggae bands try to sound American ( new being 3rd World Pulse etc.) They get by playing their original songs.
