Dust your beef cubes with a little seasoned flour then brown it. As it cooks the browned flour will slough off and become the thickening agent. It will also cook off that 'flour' taste. Also, use diced tomatoes instead of tomato sauce. Nice knives!

Went winter camping 2 years ago with my friend,had a great time. Tiny stove in the hot tent. It worked great. We brought 4 duffel bags of dead,ash. Never got cold. Cooked on charcoal out side. Had a out house 50 yards away. No one else crazy enough to be out there camping. Correct cots and zero sleeping bags. We had a blast. Lots of Crown Royal helped. Thanks for the upload. Keep camping.

That’s my style VW and wearing hat on hat. I started watching when you got the VW camper then watched most of your content previous to that. Different phases for sure. Colorado, California, Mexico, cross country, Canada, New York and Alaska not to mention the fishing, car purchases, air b&b and buddy trips. Loved fishing with your mom and camping with your parents. I think most of us have already been there and done that. Our heating system at home needed bleeding a fre years back and my roasting hot PS4 was the only source of heat that night in my bedroom but it kept us warm, dem biznitches can throw out some decent heat let's be honest here!

Awesome as always. Quick tip from a professional chef. If you thicken warm or hot liquid use a cold thinkener in this case mix the flower with the red wine until smooth and add to the beef bourguignon. That way no more flour lumps. Good luck and Bon Appetit 😊

Yea I find that when I use my Instapot, I have to doubly season because you usually trade depth of flavor for quick cooking time. Plus the steam in there creates more liquid than the stove so it tends to dilute the flavors as well.

Helpful tip....when you go to brown your meat and you wamt a thicker sauce, you want to add several tablespoons of flour to a bag, place your meat in the bag of flour then shake the bag well to coat all your meat...put a few tablespoons of oil in the pan after well coated add your meat in to brown. When you go to add your sauce, it will thicken automatically. Works great!

One year out in Colorado on a winter elk hunt I took a plastic tarp and a darn good down sleeping bag and made my bed on a nice soft flat snow bank. It was great but the hardest part was getting out of my clothes and into the bag. All I left on was a t shirt shorts and sox. But I was warm as toast. I loved camping out like that.

My son and I drove from Alaska to Upstate New York, all the way through Canada. 5.5 days, in my little Ford Focus filled to the brim and my little dog too, what an adventure! 8 months later I packed my little car again and me and my dog drove to Colorado to live. When you thicken, instead of flour you should use cornstarch. It works so much better!! But mix with a little water before you put in the soup.

At the end of the cook you can reduce (thicken) the liquid by using the saute function again. I make an instant pot beef stew and this helps a lot.

Hey MAV, a quick tip from my grandma's cookbook: Get a big freezer ziplock and add the beef with the flour, and shake it up! When you brown the beef, the flour gets cooked as well which and there is no raw flour taste. (You can add the seasonings in the flour, and it saves space)

Ppl don’t realize unlike a 2wd vehicle that’s rear wheel drive and light on the rear of the vehicle. Front wheel drive has all the engine and transmission weight right on top of the front wheel drive system. Therefore it tends not to lose traction as easily in wet or snowy/icy conditions. I made the same mistake with my instantpot. You have to remember that it’s sealed so the steam doesn’t escape and reduce the water content. It stays in the food. So you need to use less water when using a recipe designed for non pressure cookers. The meal looks good.

Hey buddy! Run a diesel heater in the bug similar to what is in Steve! They put out dry heat to help combat that condensation issue. I have a portable one I run in the back of my truck and in my tent for that reason. Glad to see the bug out on another adventure, and props to you for making your dads dream come true.
