Full disclosure - As a schoolkid, I never believed a word of my history textbooks because 1. How could I verify if those things were true ? 2. Even if parts of it were true, how could it be meaningfully complete in a few paras/pages ? fundamentallly islam as well as abrahamic religions have two things against idolators; 1. they dont understand that hindus use idols as a medium to reach out to subtle or forces that cannot be understood with our senses. for example by creating an idol of sun and meditating on the idol and qualities of sun, you gain knowledge of sun and its powers. 2. basically idol worship is a science like modelling. 3. abrahamic people say there is only one god ; as far as hindus, they also say there is only one god; but he manfiests himself as several. Moses could not understand the logic; asked his followers to kill/enslave the enemies/dimmies/kafirs/idolators and to this day world has seen billions of death as per google maria wirth
