It was a huge scandal because it showed she didn't really care what kind of products she sold as long as she got a ton of money out of it. She tried to apologise but it wasn't very sincere. It didn't help that she took part in this vid con thing with other youtubers (I forget the name) and it was all a big scam just to get money from fans. People just think she's really greedy.

@@anyar4085 She's been in more than 1 scandal... She's been in A LOT! Her book Girl Online was revealed how it was ghostwritten and she advertised it as she wrote it all herself. It isn't so bad, it's understandable to have the help but it's just the way she advertised it as all her. She was caught saying very insulting and homophobic tweets a while back that didn't go down well, she also was laughing and joking with Alfie about mental abuse saying that she'd scream out the window for her neighbours to hear so they'd think Alfie was abusing her and she thought it was funny. There's the Hello World scandal which I think is one of THE WORST! Her and a bunch of youtubers (Including her brother and Alfie) promised fans that they would meet them all around the convention and actually get to hang out with them but it was all a mess and you rarely saw them and people payed a lot of money for this event only for nothing that was advertised, and the youtubers were also getting payed which doesn't usually happen at meet ups and that's what makes it worse that they didn't do what they promised. And there's of course the Advent Calendar which I mentioned which I think is the most famous, and Zoey did have a say in the price of the calendar. Boots revealed that Zoey was lying when she said she had no say. It may have been her managers and stuff but she never once went 'No, that's way too high.' I understand that it might not all be her, it could be like her managers and stuff but I know she can have some form of say in things and she doesn't speak up. I don't think she's horrible and I think she's a decent business woman but you can see why lots of people don't trust her. Sorry for the long comment but you can see why lots of people don't really trust her anymore. She doesn't really help herself haha.

don't get me wrong, i love youtube and all other social media websites, as a person with a disability who sometimes finds going out and getting to places a bit of a problem it can be a life line for me, and i know the most successful youtubers work hard at it, but i will never get used to a world where a youtube influencer can be known as a celeb and get on things like this, i grew up in a world where celebs would be people like Frank Sinatra, Clint eastwood, even billy connolly, its just strange to me that people making videos on the internet can now be put that far up the ladder too, and dont get me started on those that 'star' in reality tv shows like 'essex'
