I am getting ready to smock a Little Elegance bubble for a friend’s new baby granddaughter. It will be my first smocked project in about 5 years. I was never happy with my lace insertions even though I made many of these little bubbles as gifts for friends. Did you trim the insert to be 45 inches instead of the 60?

Depends on the size you are making. Once you block and see the width you need based on the bodice, you will know the size you need.
