5:20 He was James KING OF SCOTS!! NOT “King of Scotland”. As his mother was Mary, Queen of Scots. It matters. To this day. Because in England sovereignty belongs to the crown and everyone was answerable to the wearer. In Scotland sovereignty belongs to the people, and the monarch is answerable to the people. That is why to this day there is no thing as UK law. There is Scots law and English law which forever remain separate, because their fundamental bases and values are diametrically opposite and irreconcilable.

That was fascinating! I knew "of" but not much beyond that King James I had a particular favorite gentleman. Thanks for introducing us to him, his mother, and many other folks whose own lives and interests brought them together

Yes, his son, the second Duke who in his different way was an equally controversial figure figures in Walter Scott's novel Peveril of the Peak.

I was not expecting the hear my home country Guyana 🇬🇾 in this story! Super cool since hardly anyone knows of us.

Im completely dumbfounded that I never heard that King James was gay. I don’t know how I missed that. I guess I assumed he was straight since he seemed over religious what with the witch-hunts and Bible altering. I can’t wait to share this fun fact with some overly zealous people I know 😂

The woman narrating the video uses her modern day corrupted mind to perceive historical characters and accuses them of things as if they are factual.

There is a descendant of Villiers who is a well- known lesbian author who is also into horses living in Virginia. This was excellent research. Thanks for the video!

4:35 "Mary didn't necessarily know that her son was gay......" Bull, you can't look at _any_ picture of George Villiers, even in spite of the most _garish_ garb of the day, and _not_ know.

10:45 Showing this Greek image of a cup-bearer is indeed suits the topic here. Zeus is said to have seduced a boy named Ganymede, whom he also made his cup-bearer.

Homosexuality was a hip thing in ancient Greece. Men having sex with men was not unusual at all.
