I’ve said it on your other videos, but I believe it’s worth repeating. It’s so rare to see someone with enough talent to actually perform and own the song and not just play it by copying SRV. The ones with less talent can’t think outside the SRV style box and I don’t think anyone could go head to head with SRV and compare….i think you would be the rare exception.
@greg3139511 ай бұрын
It sounds exactly like srv playing. The tone, the licks. Don’t get me wrong that’s very impressive still srv is a legend
@theanthonyv10 ай бұрын
His playing is very good. But let’s be real, he’s doing SRV karaoke. He couldn’t go ‘head-to-head’ with someone whom he’d be entirely copying. It’s like saying someone could match Picasso by doing a paint by numbers version of his art. The creator and the copycat are two very different people.
@BarrackObamna9 ай бұрын
While I agree with you 100% the skill and time spent repeating is absolutely key here. This is not natural born talent imo, it’s hard work, knowledge, practice mixed with immense inspiration. I like the take on the song, it’s easily comparable to a composition SRV might have chosen, though it’s not technically difficult to hear what’s going on, it’s intensely difficult to keep the rhythm and lead parts mixed in perfectly like he has here. Not a knock on the performance but this is also basically taking all of Stevie’s favorite licks and techniques and mixing them together with taste.
@BarrackObamna9 ай бұрын
@@theanthonyvyes, I agree with you 100% Dude is skilled, but he’s mixing all of SRVs favorite techniques into one mash of a song, which is impressive and he plays clean and emulates him very well. But that being said it is still an emulation. He’s just playing every Stevie lick in the book over this track, which I like, but what are you expecting here? Something like Santanas Black Magic woman where the cover of Fleetwood Mac’s song outshines the original so much people forget it’s a Fleetwood song?
@PixelGamerPro17 ай бұрын
@@BarrackObamnaisn't the first part of the solo a cover studio version of the song, and the second part a cover of his live performance? So he really is playing the song the way SRV would've played it.

Dear Mr. Mann I'm 67 a Drummer playing since age 4. I've supported Many Guitarist so far in my 64 years of drumming. Many I've played with THINK THEY PLAY SRV.... You Sir Have A God Given Talent for Guitar. Your approach to Stevie Ray Vaughan is a Natural Ease of playing when you Pay Homage to him. Sure You play From your Heart and Mind and Add to What SRV has laid down. You Don't LABOR or Struggle when you play. You put Your Solos next to SRVs solos Both are natural and Effortless. Sure Your Ability as with SRV Didn't happen overnight. And daily Practice in anything musical has to happen to Stay at a persons current level of expertise. But to Be a Cut Above and Stand out You Sir have Arrived. You Have Respect and Class for what You do in SRVs Honor. Blessings Darrell

I’ve said this before but it is worth repeating. While most (including me) concentrate on your fretting hand, it is your strumming hand that I am most impressed with. I think your style stems more from your strumming hand. It’s so rhythmic and free. Your rhythm to me makes your playing.

You're the only one that plays this song exactly like SRV, especially with these strumming/rhythm patterns in the middle. I have to say this song is very difficult and I've been playing it for nearly two years and it's still hard to play without hearing any undesired notes. Very impressive!! Also, I purchased one of your courses and I've learned a lot so far. Thanks a lot!!

You really do SRVs music justice and that is not something I throw around lightly. I’ve probably listened to your cover of SRV’s Little Wing and Hendrix’s Castles Made of Sand at least 1000 times. I enjoy them both immensely. I still don’t understand how you don’t have a million followers, but I have a feeling it’s only a matter of time. You’ve already tripled the number of followers you have since I first subscribed. The music is great and your production quality is excellent. Keep doing what you’re doing.

The phrasing and accents in the rhythm are simply magnificent, but playing with the pentatonic scale is a great skill, it doesn’t get boring, it’s not like listening to athletes driving arpeggios up and down at high speeds, but not playing music, personally, I don’t do this for more than 20 seconds I’ll listen, you always come up with some interesting rhythmic and melodic solutions, it sounds and listens, and the sound production, everything is super
