I’ remember hearing her for the very first time in the fall of 1991 singing “You Remind Me” on the radio. I’ve been a fan ever since. That woman has really gone through a lot. When I see her, I always think of the word “perseverance.” I hated she got with that green eyed JOKER who saw her brokenness and vulnerability a mile away and capitalized off of it. I guess you have not heard stories in the 1990s regarding k.c and his side pieces beating up the women

Me and Mary are around the same age, and I'll always remember back in the 90s when she first came out saying to myself, "DAMN, SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!" I wanted so badly to be as beautiful as she is, and so did most of the black girls growing up during that era. It's sad to know that she didn't feel she was this beautiful woman (AND STILL IS) back then, but I understand. No matter how family, friends, and the outside world sees you, if you don't feel that within yourself then it's just that - you don't feel beautiful. It stems from personal trauma, relationships, etc., and how you're treated growing up and the people around you who can do damage to your self-esteem. Hell, even Halle Berry (who is considered one of the most beautiful women in the world) said that her self esteem was in the crapper coming up regardless of how many times she was told how beautiful she was. It was all about who she saw when she looked in the mirror. I'm so happy Mary now knows that she is one of the most beautiful women walking the earth! Just stunning! She has a unique beauty like LL Cool J's wife. They don't look like every other woman but they have their own GORGEOUS look and I am here for it!!!! Come THROUGH, Mary!!!!!!

I will always love Mary. My mom would always wake us up on the weekends to clean with Mary blasting! She has been through so much and is still beautiful inside and out!

I started to say, 🗣️'Everybody needs a Mary!' But God multiplied her heart through her music. ❤️✨ I was in the Navy, Coronado Island, San Diego, HH-47 Pack Rat Helicopter Support Squadron and pregnant with my 28 year old when Real Love came out. Mary is DEFINITELY part of my life soundtrack. Thank you Mary for not letting Hollyweird change you cause we need all the REAL we can get. ✌🏾&❤️ -ReSpek 👁️✨

Mary J Blige is truly a legend. Nowadays a person can make music for 3mos and people would say they're a legend. Everyone isn't a king, queen or legend

i never really knew about her life and what she went through until recently from her interviews. such gut reaching experiences that are very relatable in my world. what a amazing, well dressed, well spoken woman. i like how these radio/video show (multi talented and skilled) people are very experienced in life, so they know what to ask, what not to say, who to stand up to...impressive as hell. they know life, not pretending to know life.

Mary J. Blige is very humble for what she’s doing, the performance at the Super Bowl. This is legendary for Mary and I’m so proud of her and Good Morning Gorgeous is a great album I heard the whole thing already, she is the OG and she is the queen of R&B/Soul. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

When she said she didn't think she was pretty and didn't love herself really made me sad it took her 30 years to finally accept herself and love herself. That lady been through alot.
