The step-by-step approach makes it super easy to follow along, whether you're playing acoustic or electric. Thanks Lauren for covering everything from chord transitions to rhythmic variations. - Lipika - Team Evan Carmichael

Hi Lauren! I don't know if you remember but I told you I fractured my left arm by the shoulder in August. Last Wed. my surgeon told me I don't have to wear the sling anymore. Doing my range of motion yesterday I thought hey I might be getting my arm far enough away from my body to play my guitar. Yes there was some pain in my left shoulder when I tried to play the guitar. Also have to get my finger dexterity back but the worst thing was I have to rebuild my callouses. I will be back to playing the guitar.

Good to know that you are getting better. Please don't stress your arm to much. Take it slowly

Sang and played almost 20 years when I suddenly crushed my wrist/forearm (disconnecting an equipment float/backhoe from my dump truck), tons of permanent nerve damage, nasty looking scarring, partial removal of the small ulnar bone (6 inch section of one of the arm bones), 5 surgeries in total and 3 years recovering. Not only did the surgeon save my arm, I maintain almost full range of motion. Had a second opinion and was told either the original surgeon was a magician or it was an act of God. Point is years later, I’m still playing as well as I ever did. If I can make a comeback, so can you. Take care and I wish you a speedy recovery friend. You’ll find a way. You got this ❤❤

@DionSt.Michael So happy that you recovered from that. I am back to playing the guitar. The range of motion is almost back to normal on my left arm. I will be playing my guitar at a recital this Saturday.

@@ruthusvaltas222 Good to hear. More of us there are, the better! I’ve always felt a little responsible to encourage everyone to play, sing, express themselves because it’s always been a wonderful community to both me and most of my family as well. I wish you well on your journey back to playing and sharing it with others. Music should be celebrated any chance we get! ❤️

"Capturing the essence." Can someone come beat this into my head with a mallet, please? It's so difficult for me as a perfectionist to accept not learning it note for note as originally written, but would probably make me a lot happier as a guitar player.

It's a hard thing to do. But for me, it makes the guitar more enjoyable for sure.

I mute the bass strings on my acoustic. And it makes the high strings sound electric to me
