Mickey Jo you and the boys will be pleased that Mary Poppins is flying here to packed houses and super enthusiastic audiences here in Melbourne at Her Majesty's. Every moment of the show is special, with wonderful old nostalgic songs from you my youth plus the the new emotional songs in the current score. The show is seamless with choreography that is superb and top class, the special effects and stage production is 'next level' and work like clockwork with things coming & going, characters and objects appearing out of all sorts of places, and then the singers, actors and musos are just so brilliant and put 110% into their performances. The final scenes, fly off and finale are just so special and emotional and also happy & singalong times. Saw it last week for the first time and now looking forward to going back twice next week. A real feast for the senses and emotions !!!

Yesterday was my last day working Front of House at Mary Poppins. Me and my colleagues in the Dress Circle were all in tears when Mary said goodbye to Bert for the last time and sang her last song. I own almost all of the merchandise from the show, my favourite being the bear and the hoodie. I'm really sad going from seeing Mary Poppins (6 out of 8 shows a week) to none at all and working at another theatre in the West End. The cast are amazing and the loveliest people you could ever want to meet. I will always love Zizi Strallen, Charlie Stemp, Petula Clark, Jack North, Robbie McMillan and the rest of the cast.

So fun to see Petula Clark dancing away at 90 years old! I bet it was a great show, Someday I would love to see Charlie Stemp in a show, what a talent!

Charlie is amazing - so charismatic and energetic. I’m lucky to live near Chichester so I first saw him in Half a Sixpence, saw him in London in Mary Poppins and again in Chi in Crazy for you, which was an incredible show and is transferring to the west end this year. Highly recommend going to see it!

I was fotunate to make my first trip to London in November and saw Mary Poppins on November 14. It was a special night, as it was Petula Clark's 90th birthday! There was a huge tribute and celebration of Petula at the curtain calls, led by Cameron Mackintosh. Doing 8 shows a week at 90 is pretty amazing. The entire production was wonderful. I am in love with Zizi and Charlie, also...but Petula Clark at 90...amazing! Thanks for posting this.

Makes me cry every time I watch the curtain call. The amount of times I've walked past the Prince Edward theatre and said I want to see Mary poppins I can't even count. I saw it when I was younger and it was on tour in the Bristol hipperdrome. But I don't think anything compares to the costumes and everything the new production offers. Really regret not seeing it in its final month on stage. Thanks for uploading this.

This is why London's theatreland should never be allowed to fail....there was something on the news few weeks back about how from an effect of possible falling attendances as result of the cost of living crisis London's theatres could be at threat. That must never, be allowed to happen! Those great places of spectacular musical entertainment obviously including the Prince Edward all have so much heritage and history behind them and are as much as the beating identity and heartbeat of London as Big Ben itself, via whatever means and however - they must always be made secure. You lose any of those famous names of theatre in our capital, you lose something that is irreplaceable.

The show is ingrained into my soul even though I've never seen it live because in 2018 I spent over 2 hrs watching them perform Supercali on Main Street for the Christmas Parade filming. You only paid 99 pounds for those seats?! That's like, only $120 here in America! $120 would DEFINITELY not get you such good seats, holy smokes. The fact that you can afford to sit so close to the stage and see shows so many times suddenly makes a lot more sense now that I realize that the West End is a LOT more affordable than Broadway.
@mcflychase2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, us in the West End certainly have better affordability! We often have back row grand circle seats (like your Mezzanine) for £25 usually, depending on show as the cheapest ‘restricted’, so we certainly have it better yes. I’ve looked at Broadway pricing before, you have to pay minimum 100 + for a cheaper seat?? Wow!
@hnc522 жыл бұрын
$120 might get you a last row balcony seat at most shows. Unfortunately, if I cant afford an orchestra or front mezzanine seat, I will no longer be attending Broadway shows. The prices have gotten outrageous.
