In step in time when they do the slow over the rooftop Bert does an incredible stunt what I don’t want to spoil but seeing it as a child was magical and listening to that bit gives me goosebumps

Okay loved your reaction here's the deal! In the finale the whole way through the show its been mr Banks who was the serious one and everything must be done everything has been serious and strict and by the end he's learnt that that's not the case and says "I think you better come dance with me" to Mrs Banks saying "george this is serious" to her being the strict one in this situation and seing his change. In spoonful of sugar she's making all the previously messy plates and dishes that have fallen and the table that's broken magicaly come back to how it should be. In anything can happen the number essentially happens in the heavens and I atualy asked the composer George Stiles if the bird lady had passed on in that number as she shows up in the heavens. But this isn't the case just something I wanted to bring up In brimstone and treacle mary poppins by the end of the song is making a spell to make the evil nanny Mrs Andrews lituraly have a taste of her own medicine. By the very end of the number a giant bird cage appears and mary makes her go inside it that then disappears in a big puff of smoke downwards having a connotation of her going to hell and again having the same thing happen to her as she did to the Lark. Having the meaning and lesson be treat others like you want to be treated. Overall Mary Poppins is about family and letting our lives get distracted from what really matters.Which is why it's so successful and timeless becuase it will forever be relivent. People often think that mary poppins has come to nanny the children but really she's come to fix the family "a farther a mother a daughter a son..the threads of their lives is raveling undone..something is needed to twist them as tight like the sting you might use when your flying a kite" meaning in the prologue something or someone is needed to fix the banks family. She also arrives to show the children to use their imagination and learn the children to behave. At the very very end before A Task Is Done Michael says to Mary "do be cross again" becuase that's all they have ever seen. The nanny's been cross with them but now they are well behaved and through marys lessons she doesn't need to be cross and they don't know how to feel about that. Showing they have changed from the start being bratty kids to being welbehaved good children. Sorry for all that but it's my favourite musical and I've loved it since I was 6 so I know alot about it especially the score!

Mary Poppins is one of my favorite musicals. I was in a community theatre production in 2015 in the ensemble for Jolly Holiday & Let’s Go Fly A Kite. It was so much fun! My favorite song of all the even I was not in was probably Being Mrs. Banks & Step In Time.
