Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary Stuart defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think what Mary is trying to imply to Rizzio is this: “It’s not entirely your fault, it’s Henry’s. Even though I forgive you, we still need to be careful next time.” If this is true, this is probably the biggest act of solidarity as a response to an infidelity I’ve ever seen, especially coming from the likes of a Monarch as Mary.

It's due to Victorian era, Queen Victoria hated Elizabeth I because she seen her not a real Queen since she did everything that goes against Victorian standards of what a women should be.
