For anyone on the fence, the cookbook is absolutely worth it! I gotten rid of most cookbooks and saved recipes digitally, but this one is worth it. It’s more than a cookbook… it’s a text book. Having it organized the way it is and all of the helpful notes are just so so good. I can’t wait to start using it! The free curriculum is incredibly well done and should be a must for any family who wants their children to have great kitchen skills and be able to make things for themselves. My daughter was 13 when she went through this type of radiation treatment. It was her second surgery for brain cancer (Astrocytoma stage II, diffuse) it's amazing how strong/brave our children are in extreme, life changing circumstances. We were told she would never graduate from high school....... she's now 25. Over coming challenges to be a nurse, her life long dream. Hang in there, God has a plan far beyond our imagination.

Wow, Mary! I will be praying for you, your husband and your son. God’s more than able to heal! We also got married later in life and had my last son at 42. We chose to homeschool them also, over 25 years. They are all adults now. In the last three plus years, my mom, also passed away. Your testimony of what God is doing through prayer is so encouraging! Just found your channel, today. SO IMPRESSED My son almost died in the early hours when he was 2 years old. It turned out he had a cancerous tumour behind his breastbone. His thalamus gland (which helps the immune system in childhood and atrophies as they grow) had grown so large it was pressing on his trachea. He went through 6 hours of open chest surgery and they removed 2 lbs weight of tissue. Ubfortunately, the cancer had spread to the heart tissues and major arteries. Two years of chemo (some of the injections VERY painful), spinal taps, spinal injections and brain irradiations. At this point, a clinic visit gave me the news that the cancer they couldn't cut out around these organs, had been eradicated. I was extatic and saying how grateful I was that he had been "cured". She looked at me like I had a screw loose, then told me that he would never be cured; that his cancer (lymphosarcoma) had long remission periods but he would eventually develop leukaemia (unknown which type or whether treatment for that would be successful). No-one had had the guts to tell me that his particular cancer was ultimately fatal. He is 48 now. The treatments he was given affected his growth (more injections!), adversley stunted the roots of his teeth, affected his vocal chords and speach plus some residual brain damage (when I asked what the consequences of the brain irradiations would be, the consultant said "We won't know until he grows up") Two years ago (he has to go to the late effects clinic every year) they found he had a small brain tumour growing near his spinal chord at the base of his neck. He was referred for gamma knife treatment. As you described, not pleasant to have, although not as brutal as invasive surgery. Thank goodness your sons initial cancer was benign; the regrowth left behind from surgery also likely to be benign. Cancerous cells can't all be seen by the naked eye and surgeons have to guess that they have cut out enough to get "clear margins". Please, PLEASE, insist that he gets YEARLY checks. Don't let the medical profession fob you off and prematurely discharge him. A small tumour is easier to treat, and cancer cells, even benign, are unpredictable. It may be different in the USA; we live in the UK and, although free, rationing of expensive tests happens. I hope he has a good caring doctor. Stay vigilant. With very best wishes to you all and I hope Ben experiences NO MORE recurrences. Trisha South Yorkshire UK PS It looks like I will be binge watching your videos for the next few weeks! My Dad did gamma knife twice, and did wonderful. He had trigeminal neuralgia. It is amazing procedure and relieved my dad of that horrible pain. Prayers for your son, for you and your husband. And best wishes and congratulations on your book.

Oh Mary, my own precious Mother passed on Christmas Eve this past year and it's been tough. My prayers and heart go out to you. Mary, I had not heard about your Mom passing. I am so sorry to hear that, and I hope you really took the time you needed to celebrate her wonderful life, and mourn her passing. And your son! I am very relieved to know the gamma knife process worked. Your son seems such a special young man (and yes! Very handsome, as well...), and there is obviously such love between you, he, and your husband. I am an older mom as well, and have, like you, one child. My boy is now 36 years old and a special ed teacher. He often relies on his second love, music, to help his students learn certain concepts, interestingly. He would understand totally the difficulty of your son's losing his hearing in one ear. I send prayers and good energy to you and your son from Vermont! 💖
