Fun Fact: During the trial to divorce Henry to Catherine. Mary Tudor sided with Catherine of Aragon, even though she was closer to his brother Henry VIII

Well yes I think both sisters were on Catherine side because Henry wants power and he didn't care to him sisters so much je care about him country. But on other side Catherine was always on Mary's side, because she is a woman which marriage was also for peace, and she didn't know Arthur but at least he was same as her. King Louis was so old and Mary was so young as King James IV and Margaret

I love her very very much even if I didn't see the spanish princess 2. I adore the historical figure and I hope they hadn't ruined her in the show as they did with Catherine of Aragon. Her love story with Charles Brandon is fantastic!

I saw myself the second season because I was a fan of the love of Charles Brandon and Mary Tudor, not Henry and Catherine, and I must confess that Mary became (along with Margaret) my favorite character in the series, they represented loved women like the rebels who were, in that I have no criticism. Her romance with Charles is perfect, better than what was seen in "The Tudors" or any other representation, I can assure you.

I’m soooo glad The Spanish Princess did not botch Mary’s story like the Tudors did. As much as I love the Tudors they botched Mary’s so horribly bad. Not to mention they made her characters name Margaret. Anyways I’m stopping before I go on a rant. Point is The Spanish Princess is finally doing Meg, and Mary unlike the Tudors. I will never forgive the Tudors for combining Mary and Meg into one person and Tudors miscast the role to boot.

They gave Mary's storyline to Margaret because they felt like the viewers would mistake Mary (Rose) Tudor with Henry's daughter, (Bloody) Mary Tudor. And there was also the fact that they mentioned Mary Queen of Scots at some point so they felt it was better to join Margaret Tudor's story with Mary's story 🙎 I'm so happy to see Mary finally shining 💖😍 Edit: and Meg too! They are both finally getting some time to shine and I'm loving it! 😍

Sister, shes too old to be Catherines daughter shes only a few yrs younger than Henry. This Mary marries king of France then Later Charles Brandon. Queen Mary the 1st (also called bloody mary) their daughter marries king phillip the 2nd of spain. And NEITHER are Mary Queen of Scots (as shes descended through Henrys other sister).

Mary Tudor, daughter of Henry VII and younger sister of Henry VIII, Mary Tudor, daughter of Henry VIII, who would later be crowned Mary I of England, and Mary Stuart, better known as Mary, Queen of Scots, who was the granddaughter of Margaret Tudor. Margaret was also the daughter of Henry VII and older sister of Henry VIII.

No. In England, the number gives only for Queens and Kings. Not a princess. That's why Blood Mary was the first, and her aunt - Mary Tudor doesn't have a number. She was just a princess.

The numbers after the monarch's name represents how many of the same name ruled. So Henry VIII was the 8th ruler of England to be named Henry, consorts do not get numbers. The current monarch is Queen Elizabeth II as she is the second ruler in English history to be named Elizabeth, her mother was also named Elizabeth (Lyons) but has no number as she was a consort. Henry VIII's daughter Mary was the first female monarch in English history.

She was sisters of Henry viii and wife of Louis xii of France. After death of her husband she remarried to Charles Brendon, 1st Duke of Suffolk. She was also Maternal grandmother of lady Jane grey who was queen of England for 9 days.

Mary loathed the idea of marrying such an old man, despite realizing that this was often the fate of princesses, who had to make the matrimonial alliances their fathers (or, as in this case, brothers) wanted for the sake of their country. She was a typical Tudor, brilliant & headstrong, so she simply defied Henry when he made this arrangement for her. When he found he couldn't bully her into the match, he tried bribery, instead. He promised her that if she just did this one little thing to please him that she could marry whomever she liked when old Louis died & she was free. He knew she & Charles Brandon, his best friend, were madly in love, & sure enough, this did the trick. Mary set to work to quickly love old Louis to death, which she accomplished in record time (less than three months). Henry, unwisely, sent Charles Brandon to escort her home, as soon as it was determined that she was not pregnant with the next king of France. Mary, knowing her brother, correctly suspected that he was already arranging another political alliance for her, & demanded that Charles marry her on the spot. . .which he did. The two returned home to present Henry with a fait accompli, Mary whimpering that she might even be already pregnant. They begged the wrathful king's forgiveness, Katherine intervened on their behalf, they paid Henry a huge fine: & that was that. They lived happily ever after, until her sadly early death, at the age of only 37, having borne Charles two sons & two daughters. 👸
