Netflix was his debut in the MCU. Daredevil is an MCU show. It was canon in 2017, it's canon now.

@@northwindkey That is incorrect, the netflix shows had 1 way canonity, they were not produced under Kevin Feige and while they referenced the first avengers film (a lot ^^) the films never referenced them. They were made by Marvel Television at a time when it wasn't under Kevin Feige which is why it was one sided. Now this COULD be them making it canon but more likely these are going to essentially be varients of the Netflix characters which gives the team more control over the story and their backstory than if they took everything from those shows as 100% canon. It means they could recast some of the characters if they want to bring them in in a different way, or they can just ignore certain interactions we have seen which weren't so well recieved. Anyway with the multiverse it's fine to say they're still canon out there somewhere, it's just a different universe and you shouldn't expect these characters specifically to have experienced every single thing we've seen them experience on Netflix.

I don't think Kingpin hired Ronin because Clint won't work for the actual head of all this mafia business. He said he was tipped by the "informant" about the whereabouts of the tracksuits and Maya's father and that "informant" works for Kingpin. Most probably this "informant" is Kazi based on how nervous he is about the whole Ronin situation.

The Eleanor reveal makes sense. She wants Kate to drop the hero thing, and she won't do that while Clint is alive. Eleanor's perspective on the Battle of NY is probably very different, thinking Hawkeye should have saved her husband, not just Kate.

There's no way that her call last episode was the reason Yelena was hired to kill Clint, the hit was put out on him much earlier than that. Whatever Eleanor is up to with Kingpin, she's been at it for a while. My guess is that they're part of some cabal, possibly alongside Valentina, that needs Clint out of the picture for some reason. Kingpin is using Echo and Val is using Yelena. While she's definitely involved, I'm not sure Eleanor actually hired Yelena, but Yelena, at least, thinks she did.

That Kingpin reveal is bigger than you realize, Mary. Kingpin a.k.a. Wilson Fisk is the main villain from the Marvel Netflix series Daredevil. The show was extremely popular but it was canceled after its third season, seemingly because Netflix was upset that Disney was starting its own streaming service with Disney+. Ever since, fans had been wondering when or if Daredevil and his supporting players would be properly introduced into the MCU and if the actors from the show would reprise their roles. Last week, it was confirmed straight from Kevin Feige that Charlie Cox would be reprising his role as Daredevil, and now we get confirmation that Vincent D'Onofrio is also back to play Kingpin, so it's a very exciting time for the show's fans.

Plus all the drama around Clint being away from his family?. Could this be The MCU's way of letting Clint retire (by pretending to die as Ronin) and letting Kate/Yelena take the credit and fill the void in the Avengers. Hawkeye; Episode 5 Review ... In the middle of “Avengers: Endgame” immediately after the death of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff:- Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark asked his team: “Do we know if she had family?”. Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers answered: “Yeah. Us”. It means that Clint and Steve were pretty close to Natasha. She told both of them about her adopted Russian family: David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov, Rachel Weisz’s Melina Vostokoff and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova. That also meant that the above trio were disintegrated by the end of “Avengers: Infinity War”. This is why Natasha was so dead set on sacrificing herself for The Avengers to gain The Soul Stone. It was mainly to revive her Russian family as well as countless lives lost to The Blip. The theme of blind rage is explored many times over. Clint was traumatized by the lost of his family to Thanos’ Snap. He went on a killing spree; chasing after criminals across the globe. Maya is grief stricken by her father’s callous murder - pledging vengeance on The Ronin. Yelena is angered with the untimely passing of her sister, Natasha on Vormir - she firmly believes that Clint, a fellow Avenger is solely culpable and deserves execution. There are too many plot threads to tie up in this upcoming Finale of Season 1. Which means that we shall see “Hawkeye; Season 2” next year. I think that Season 2 shall cover more on the dynamics between Clint and Kate as well as their teacher-student relationship. More too on Bishop Security and Sloan Limited involvement with the Tracksuit Mafia and underground mob; namely Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Grant Fisk aka Kingpin. I don’t believe that Clinton Francis Barton shall be kill off by the end of this serial. My prediction on the highlight for this final episode is that there will be a mano-a-mano showdown: Yelena Belova @ Black Widow versus Clint Barton @ Hawkeye. In the aftermath of it, Yelena will learn the truth of what transpired on Vormir - Nat selflessly laid down her own life to bring back half the Universe’s population. That Clint has been grieving over her all these years; suffering post traumatic stress disorders (PTSDs) on a daily basis. Both shall reconcile with themselves: Clint forgiving himself and Yelena giving up her mercenary job as those are what Natasha would have wanted. In the epilogue, we shall see Kate Bishop enjoying a Christmas dinner with Clint’s family as a sincere gesture of welcoming her as a family friend.

Feige includes things when he feel he has use for them but that does not mean he is discarding everything that came before. All those shows are worldbuilding and at anytime things can be pulled from them.
