I am a proud parent of a daughter that fell love with another female. She cried the day she told me, and I said to her, why are you crying my daughter?. She said I thought you would be ashamed of me. I said dry your eyes, I am more ashamed of your tears crying about you being afraid of who you are and shedding tears about it. STOP that~ YOU be proud of yourself and never let a tear streak your cheeks again about Who you are! I love you! I am PROUD of you! Today my daughter and her wife have a 9 month old son, and she is very happy, her son is beautiful and my daughter's wife is a blessing!

“I’m not crying on sundays” always will make me tear up so much. I remember crying after church so many times feeling as though I was unworthy and that God no longer could love me, I finally went back to a church not too long ago, but this one persons words kept playing in my ears of “you can’t be a true Christian and be gay” I love my girlfriend and nothing can be wrong with that because I’m true to who I am and I won’t change

Idk where ur at but in Springfield Illinois theres a church called first united methodist and its amazing. A few assholes but if u ignore them/ dont seek em out (mostly older ppl) its a really nice church. My ideal is that God made me trans on purpose, to give me trials and test my friendships.

You know this is an old post, but I felt the need to reply. I use to feel the same way when I would go to religion classes at my catholic church. There would be some that would ask about gay people and they, the teachers, would always have to pause and then speak how they are a "sin" and one time, I don't quite remember what the conversation was about but this girl asked about homosexual relations after a long period since the last one. The answer the teacher gave really angered me, if I could remember exactly what they said I would write it out, but it was something borderline derogatory. I literally almost went off. I remember telling the teacher something along the lines of "I know the this is a church and catholicism doesn't support that, however, do not make them believe they have to denounce them as if they are trash. You preach unconditional love, and yet you speak like that..." Well, I can tell you I wasn't very well-liked by this person, but you don't need people to tell you what to believe. I am a nonstraight woman, baptized catholic, but practice other spiritual stuff. I believe in God, and have read the bible, say my prayers. I talk to god every day. I go to church when I feel the need to. I listen to my grandmother when she tells me prayers. I have come out to my family who is mostly catholic and baptist. They have accepted me for who I am, unconditional love. You know, I was also once told that God does not have a face and that Jesus once said to not put a face to your worship, because god had many faces. I fully believe that. You aren't born with a manual, the only "Manual" you have are a society full of opinions telling you what you should conform to. I don't need a person to tell me what to believe, because my intuition and experience tells me what to believe. And you know what, I am happier because of that. You don't need to denounce anything or feel inadequate when the ones that are inadequate are the very buildings you are told are safe havens. What's funny is that almost all the priests I have ever met have raped, and molested one or two of all their altar or youth volunteers. They have all gotten away with it as well. Seriously, whoever thought to make a structured and rigid religion where you aren't able to marry and expect hormone ruled animals to be celibate must have been out of their mind.

As my son was growing up I *always* said that I would never put limitations on the person my son could love because finding love was hard enough, even without having to please _anyone_ else, let alone the whole damn world! I said it in front of him, too. I'm happy to report that he has loved only those of his own choosing. I never allowed him, my step-kids or any of the kids who hung out at our house to use homophobic slurs, at least not in my presence, and any LGBTQ+ kids my kids knew were always welcome at our house, and I made sure they knew it. The parents of LGBTQ+ children aren't failures until they stop being the loving support that children need. Parents who take away a child's love, home, security, safety and support are parents that have failed.

I came out as bi a little over two years ago, but I have yet to date a girl. The world loves to question that and challenge me: "Are you sure you're really into girls if you've never even been with one?" That hurts me and sometimes makes me feel fake because I've only ever been with guys in my life so far...but make no mistake world, I know who I am. I daydream about crushes and dates and falling in love with girls ALL THE TIME. Just like in this video. And I keep coming back to it because it resonates so deeply with my same sex ideal. So if all of that isn't proof, Idk what is. Never let the world tell you who you are. Be your own validation.

I'm pan but have only dated people who pass as male. I'm not female but I know people think that I am, especially since I dont have the right stuff in my pants. It doesnt matter, I know I love this amazing genderfluid person. We're very different from one another, like 100% but we both know who we love and our orientations are still real ,still valid. The moment you start dating a girl people are going to ask you if you're really gay and closeted and they'll say that you're really straight, you just havent found the right guy yet. They are wrong. I want you to know that. I want you to hold onto that fact no matter what they throw at you.

I'm a fifteen year old Catholic. I studied religion for three years before I chose to be baptised as Catholic. I have read the bible twice, and I completely and fully support equal rights. I believe in a God of mercy and love. Key word there is love. I'd just like to point out, 50% percent of the people I know who support equal rights hate all Christians for hating all gays, and they claim to hate them for hating people who they don't know. Am I the only one who finds this incredibly ironic? Hating any one race, any one religion, any one sexuality is wrong. Period. Loving all sexualities and hating all religion does not make you a loving and understanding person.

This really makes me angry. I have read the bible, and I know there is some seriously weird messed up stuff in there but in the end the bible was written by people and I truly believe that some stuff was a little messed up. However I also believe that God wouldn't let the big, important things get messed up. So I don't really pay much attention to the chapters that I believe were slightly tweaked. We all sin. Being gay is not a sin, having gay sex is. However, even if you do decide to do that it is not for me to judge you. Every single teen ever has lied to their parents. Every single person has thought hateful thoughts. Every single person has masturbated, those are all sins completely equal to having gay sex. I don't hate gays because I know that we're all in the same boat and that God loves us anyways.

I hate it how many people who hate on LGBT+ are religious people, and when I was younger I was taught that God set a path for us and everything we do and chose to do was already set in stone, and if some people are gay, bi, lesbian, Trans, Pan, is because that's our destiny and you can't change it, your sexuality isn't your personality so though people judge you for it they have no right to do so ignore the haters and be yourself, and remeber God loves us all no matter what your sexuality, sexual orientation etc. is :)

I wish a lot of people would just take this song to heart. NO ONE will change, whether you try to make them. You can't just be convinced you're straight, or gay, or bi, or something else entirely (including gender identities, and just about everything) because someone told you to. As the openly bisexual Lady Gaga said, "I'm born this way!" and they won't change.

I'm not gay but I am atheist and I been an atheist sense I was a really young child, because I just didn't understand, and I remember asking my family questions about Christ and they would always shut me out when I asked them questions that made them think , and growing up in the South everyone here is religious or have their religious beliefs, which makes people out me a lot. . . . . . . I use to feel like I was doing something wrong just because I didn't believe in God, and I would pray and it just didn't feel right so now I finally found the courage to tell people. I still gets sick to my stomach when people ask me about it, but now I'm just me & I can only believe what I believe in

remarkably weird Marcus my family held a lot of completely unreasonable beliefs that they indoctrinated me into as a child. They were young earth creationists, conservatives, and homophobes. But despite that, I am actually really thankful that I am gay because it forced me to research and reevaluate everything they taught me. My family is a little less crazy now, they accept and support me at least, so that's a plus. Haven't told them I'm an atheist though.
