In this video you stated this can be handwritten with blue or black ink. But if you pause the video @ 5:25 One of the pages says "Documents must be typed or printed. No handwritten documents will be accepted." Thank you for this video! It has been the most helpful :)

Thanks so much for pointing that out! You're right. The state no longer accepts handwritten Articles of Organization. If filing the Articles of Organization by mail, it must be typed. We made an update on our website instructions (www.llcuniversity.com/maryland-llc/forms/), which are the most up to date, the description, and the pinned comment. Thank you :)

Or select your state and start forming your LLC with our free guides: www.llcuniversity.com/. For example, this video states the form an be completed by hand. That is no longer the case. Great video thanks, quick question; Of I wanted another LLC to own the LLC I’m creating, would I add that LLC name to section 5?
@llcuniversity2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! No, #5 is technically for the Organizer: www.llcuniversity.com/llc-organizer-vs-member/ Members aren't listed in the Articles of Organization in Maryland. So you'd have the parent company listed as the LLC Member in the LLC's Operating Agreement: www.llcuniversity.com/maryland-llc/operating-agreement/

You're welcome Kashia! There is just one fee paid to the state to form the LLC. We explain it better over here: www.llcuniversity.com/maryland-llc/forms/. Hope that helps.

Can the addresses in the articles of organization be P.O. boxes in order to retain anonymity ?
@llcuniversity3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian, no a PO box address cannot be used for the Maryland Registered Agent (www.llcuniversity.com/maryland-llc/registered-agent/) address or the Address of the LLC in Maryland. If you hire a Registered Agent that lets you use their address, you can list their name and address as the Registered Agent and as the Address of the LLC in Maryland.

In Maryland you have to have a resident agent. I tried registering my self my form got rejected
@llcuniversity7 жыл бұрын
A Resident Agent is a person or a company who agrees to accept legal mail (service of process) on behalf of the LLC. You can be your LLC's Resident Agent in Maryland. We file LLCs like this all the time. Please call their office and get clarification on your rejection. It might have been the way you completed the section (like listing an out-of-state address), or something else in your filing.
