Maryland plans to move forward to rebuild the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge no matter what. Gov. Wes Moore returned Tuesday to the White House to provide an update and discuss the $1.9 billion in federal funding needed for the rebuild. The Baltimore Bridge Response Invests and Delivers Global Economic Relief Act (Baltimore BRIDGE Relief Act), which would cover 100% of the cost with federal funding, is stalled in Congress. A little more than two months have passed since the Dali cargo ship crashed into the Key Bridge in the early morning hours of March 26. Since then, Key Bridge Response Unified Command worked day and night to clear the wreckage both in the water and atop the cargo ship.
