@Michayal Valder It says the right of the people. It does not say the right of the militia. Also, there is nothing about the 2nd Amendment which requires one be in a militia to have the right. Give it a careful read. In fact, to require one be in a militia to be able to exercise the right would make it a privilege. What a contradiction that would be. If they meant the privilege to keep and bear arms they would have said the privilege to keep and bear arms. A militia is one reason the right is important, but exercise of that right is not limited to that and that alone. The right can be exercised in any way for any reason as long as it does not infringe the rights of anyone else.

The Supremes have no say on that, only if the law is just or not, it was an authority/power that was usurped back in the days of Justice Marshal if I remember correctly. If the law is unjust, the law is sent back to the jurisdiction from whence it came to be rescended. As long as it on the books you can be charged.
