I just can't get behind non leather bags. No matter how much I love a bag or coat if it's faux I can't get behind it 😭

I agree too! Anything faux leather will peel and crack over time. Leather if well care for will last a lifetime.

It's just a waste of money. 🤷🏽♀️I rather invest in leather goods that will last for years and years then buy faux that will end up in a landfill in a year or two.

What about nylon or canvas?

I don’t like faux leather but don’t mind bags made of other materials.

I am loving Chanel’s handbags! Whoever is designing the bags is quite talented.

The Chanel speedy/Boston bag just look so heavy!! You got the quilted leather and the zipper. It looks like the Dior Groove bag, big, heavy and cumbersome. Although, the bowling/Boston bag is very trendy and classic in its own way. Very much like Hermes Victoria or miu miu Arcadia, or alaia teckle.

When I think of vegan leather, I think of plastic made from petroleum which never decomposes & clogs our rivers and suffocate the animals of the sea.

And it peels after a few years!

Real leather anything can be redesigned into something else or repaired. Faux leather just ends up in the landfill. I just cannot get behind the faux leather products. Leather can last a life time.

I would not get vegan leather. There is already lab meat being made, so lab leather is not that far behind. I’d just wait for that to happen.

The problem is that the meat and leather mafia buying up the patent. To save it for later when they run out of option. Hermés bought I think the most promising recipe for cactus leather. And so has other multi bill companies. Unfortunatly scientists are easy to buy. But I know for a fact that there is already been made faux leather that are a least as good as the real. But very powerful forces do whatever it takes to hold back the time. When it comes to faux suede now that depends on the quality. I have a coat from the seventies that look exactly like real and has hold up many washes and still look new. So if there is a will there is a way.

I like Stella McCartney's new bag designs but I cannot buy something faux leather as I fear it will peel and crack. Once that happens it cannot be repaired like real leather..

Thank you for as allways very inspiring and informative content! I am now finally starting to see the light in terms of duo bag concept. I know, I am soooo late to the party, but maybe the way Chanel does it really sparked it for me. Makes me want to dig into my own collection of various bags and see if I can recreate. I usually have a smaller pouch inside my larger bags anyway for pratcicallity so it is just a mattr of wearing them on the outside somehow. I see a lot of comments here on vegan bags and personally I do think it is such a great philosophy. Although most of the bags I have myself are leather, which I feel kind of bad about tbh, I think anyone who decides to go vegan are people I applaud. The power of consumer movements on the oveall industry climate impact may feel small in the grand scheme of things at the moment but it has to start somewhere and the industry at some point need to consider where the consumers head is at. And I do think it is not either or…I trust people to be able to keep more than one thought in their mind at the same time. Buying a vegan bag does not mean they don’t pay attention to other problems in the world. My ten cents… Keep making great content! 🤩🙏🏼

I have an issue with “vegan” leather- what It’s made off. If it’s synthetic - recycling is a big issue, leaching microplastics into environment is much bigger problem than use of real leather.

95% of LV's bags are canvas with leather trim, I'm sure some Vegetarians would forgive them a little, like having the odd Bacon sandwich

Vegan leather just ends up in the landfill a year or less. Nono for me. Its leather or just fabric. Anything faux is off my books.

I am not interested in vegan leather anything… not understanding concept whatsoever it’s funny and very sad , that we more care about animals than babies. You think Diddy story is something…. He is just a little piece in a very evil organised chain… if anyone thinks that this just a few crazy ppl involved, just wait that you see all exposure, from governments, children protective services, police, courts,… ports…. All involved! But why no one screaming protect and save children. But all programs, the same ppl run on society… climate change, protection animals, etc,,,
