MasakoX What if when the members of the z fighters were on king kai’s planet they turned the ginyu force good and earlier on Namek Goku spared some of the members of the ginyu force and because of their injuries they were easily overpowered and imprisoned in Freazas empty ship and later during the fight with freaza the ship is damaged and the ginyu force escape and proclaim that they will help freaza fight but due to their injuries making them useless and their earlier failure freaza just kills them himself and ginyu as a frog sees this?

What I'm most intrigued about right now is a possible relationship dynamic shift in this story with Krillin and Vegeta. While Vegeta may view Goku as a rival, he might see Krillin as another. Getting overpowered by a "fake" Saiyan in the future would be far more of a blow to his ego than being overpowered by a "low class" savant. Intrigued by this one, as well as the Frieza turning good story.

This tale almost feels like a dissection of the differences between innate human and saiyan psychology. As well as potentially explaining why when the entire planet has been at stake only one member of the team has fought him at a time. Not necessarily. Remember the squeaky thing when Ozaru-Vegeta was crushing Goku? I feel like that will happen to Krillin and it will still go up in the positives. After that it depends on whether Krillin goes first to Namek with Kami's ship, or whether he waits for the gravity-chamber ship like Goku. Also I don't really know how getting his power unlocked by Guru would be affected. Even worse for Krillin is what would happen when 17 18 & 16 are awakened. Would he still quack like a duck and not rush to fight, or would he try to fight 17 and 18, get crushed, and never get any of them thinking he's cute? I have no idea because I don't know enough about how either the new Krillin (with unknown experiences) or the Androids think or why

What if all the former World's Martial Arts Tournament fighters and other skilled warriors from Dragon Ball trained with Kami and showed up to the Saiyans? People like Ranfan, Nam, Giran, Paul, King Chappa, Pamput, Man-Wolf, Bora, Master Roshi, (Mr Satan) etc. They may not be world changers, but they should be able to train up to at least Chaotzu's level and be able to help with the Saibamen. Some of them had abilities even beyond that as King Chappa later is seen training Uub before he goes off with Goku.

Well, things in this what-if differ significantly from the original timeline so, using that as a base for what will happen in this story is an iffy proposition at best. There's a delay of what, 4-5 years between the Freeza fight and the androids? Krillin in this timeline has saiyan genetics and a drive to keep up and maybe even surpass his buddy Goku. And if Vegeta survives too, Krillin will have even more reason to try to keep up, especially with how Masako sort of set up Vegeta and Krillin to ne rivals in this part of the story. We know you can train to reach Super saiyan, as evidenced from Gohan reaching it in the Hyperbolic time chamber. There's no way this Krillin wouldn't have reached at least unmastered Super Saiyan by then.

Additionally, think of 18's reaction when she learns that Krillin - now not only good hearted and, brave, but also strong af and with even more fiery bravery and fighting spirit than the original Krillin - got super enraged when seeing her being hurt, transforming in a legendary myth and stomping her tormentor in the ground (albeit to now effect). I guess Maron's gonna have some siblings^^ And 18 will be more than the typical toriyama-like Fighter-turned-housewive. She will carry on and train, and probably will achieve some boosts ... like DBS17?

The one major difference here that no one on this thread seems to address is whether or not Krillin would cower like he did in the original story and this be as endearing to 18 In their first interaction. Krillin with all that Saiyan blood and drive might jump in much like Vegeta did and thus paint himself more a target to put up defenses, rather than a timid creature that "is cute cause he wants to play hero" that endearing moment for 18 that was the catalyst for their relationship to blossom. Not only that, but Krillin could actively fight cell and actually put distance between himself and 18. They could be close, but they also may not.

As Long as Krillin still retains much of his key character and also creates those signature abilities I'm good if he takes a more main character spotlight. Still hoping he gets with 18 in the end. Maybe a actual power couple during the Buu Arc and still in Super in actual combat. Would also give reason to keeping up in power after his and 18 are more in family mode. Maybe have more communication with 17 and occasionally sparing and helping with the Wild Life Preserve and not just constantly working on patrol or being at Kame House.

I would hope possibly on Namek he does something that is Saiyan basic instinct and after it turning out badly he with his prior experience of him being human is able to better recognize and control his new Saiyan urges. So he would be more like how Vegeta by end of Super is in regards staying by his family and friends. Again that could be easier for Krillin because of prior feelings and knowledge of being formally human and having a prior incident maybe on Namek? That and if he still gets with 18 hopefully they can occasionally practice as ifwe recall she in Super had to push him to fight more. So now it will be more mutually enjoyed outside of prior reasons. Also if they keep a closer relationship with 17 and his family it would give a better explanation to 17 being so strong in Super and not just he trained secretly alone. As another post mention it could come with the benefit of tag team of 3 with special attacks and fighting combinations which would make them way more formidable in The Tournament of Power. Of course I hope between the end of Cell Saga and Buu Arc that they still focus first on family and friends with Krillin once in a while joining Goku or others for some training and practice.

@@Vegeta241 Another nice possibility depending on how events turn out similar and different. If Goku still dies at the end of Cell Saga that a much closer friend Krillin with a current relationship with 18 would occasionally help and be around Chi Chi, Gohan, and the newborn Goten. Maybe get a place in between Kame House and Goku's. That way they can be in more easy contact and also if desired be closer to the nearest city if 18 wants to get some different scenery instead of being on a island as much or in the middle of a forest. Possibly this could be beneficial for Goten with others easing Chi Chi from not trying to make a mini Goku. It could also have a interesting dynamic change between him and Trunks as friends. Also if Maron is born say a year after Goten was they can be childhood friends like Trunks and Goten , but less on said fighting aspect. Maron also would in later Arcs possibly be more prominent than current because of her parents close interaction to others and her being a half Saiyan now. That is assuming in this story if Vegeta still is around and got with Bulma, Krillin did get with 18, and Goku fate for seven years is nearly the same.

One interesting fact is that Saiyans are attracted by Strong, Determined Women. So Krillin would of course still fall in love with 18, maybe even more so!Problem here is...will 18 still love him back? 18 likes Krillin’s sweet and caring side, but this Saiyan Krillin is showing anomalies in his behavior. It’s not like he is not a good guy but he would prefer to fight her off instead of shutting her down with a controller. I guess only time will tell!

Stuff like this “What If” showcase one very interesting thing when writing AUs. You could have the oddest premise for an AU, but if the writer knows what they’re doing with the premise, knows how to make it work in-universe, and fleshes it out naturally based on the rules of the franchise, it can work really well! Case in point, the idea of Krillin becoming a Saiyan does sound very fanficy, but the way it was set up in this continuity, and with how the characters and Krillin react to the change, it feels very natural and sets up a rather interesting story for Krillin as he adapts to the change, and how it affects those around him. For good and for ill. I like that. It’s good writing.

I feel like Krillin WANTS to fight Vegeta more, BUT I also feel like Goku would say something to the extent of "Hey! You had the first guy! I want a turn!" Much like Goku and Vegeta did during the Resurrection F arc of Super. I think that Krillin and Goku would follow King Kai's advice this time and NOT step beyond a double, which would mean that they each individually would fall to Vegeta, BUT tag-teaming Vegeta, they can work together to take the guy down. BUT it'll be later-on when Vegeta gets blasted by a double Kamehameha from the two of them (like a Goku Kaio-Ken 4 did originally) and follows it up by transforming into his Oozaru form that really clinches it... Because Krillin as an Oozaru (And Gohan too!) would have little to no concept as to how to control the power, AND they would each actually be significantly weaker than Vegeta's great ape form too! However this would give Goku some more time to prepare a Genki-Dama, and he'd end up hitting both Krillin AND Vegeta, damaging them both. That's when Gohan would get involved, and they'd work together to cut off his tail, and so Goku wouldn't have been beaten nearly as badly as in the original. The BIGGEST danger in this variant of the timeline is having Krillin become something of a "clone" of Goku. So I actually feel like it's entirely possible that later-on, after Goku goes Super Saiyan on Namek, Krillin ends-up wishing on the dragonballs to return to his former human self! As he feels that he's TOO much like Goku... At least that might end-up being how I'd end the series! Just with Krillin a lot stronger than he used to be thanks to multiple Zenkai boosts and King Kai's training.

Ok here’s my two cents: Krillin showing anomalies in his behavior? Absolutely plausible! The guy have always been insecure, he spent his entire life feeling weak. Now that the Saiyan cells are making him feel great, he is prone to bravado and excessive pride and confidence! That’s simply natural. But it’s also dangerous. If, say, Vegeta decides to turn into an Oozaru, then Krillin turns into one as well. But Vegeta can control himself, Krillin...Er, not. And Vegeta is far, far stronger! That would greatly turn the tables but at the same time it would teach a lesson to Krillin and slap some sense into his new Saiyan brain!

GTdba from what we’ve seen though, Kuririn is most likely stronger than Vegeta (Goku too). Goku managed to surpass Vegeta with the Kaio Ken x3 when he was training all by himself with all of the delays in his training. This time they both get there [Kaio-Sama’s planet] much faster meaning more time to train, they were already much stronger even before that which means they already have two huge head-starts over cannon Goku, AND they can both train together and compete which means they both have much more motivation to get stronger and it’s implied that Goku might not even be stronger than Kuririn in this one meaning they are both probably noticeably stringer than Vegeta. If Kuririn fights Vegeta’s Ape form with his own, Goku can interfere since he has no tail and cut their tails off.

ColonelSlanders Well, I thought about the fact Krillin got a tail. He was bound to turn into a Giant Ape sooner or later! What I was not certain was if he would have been able to understand, like Gohan for example. Instead he went totally crazy. On the other hand he used to be a human, who knows if this fact will play in the future with weird features and such!

I don't think the saiyan DNA is necessarily changing him but more so boosting and emboldening the qualitys he all ready had as well as giving him a much needed confidence boot. All the human z fighters had the drive to get stronger but lost that confidence and drive because of being outclassed by goku and others(except Tein who still trains).

I've legitimately not been so hyped for the next part to one of your stories in a while, this is awesome, I can't wait to find out, I'm hoping that Goku might not even need to fight although it would be cool to see to people of almost equal power beat down Vegeta, and it's going to be very interesting to see if Vegeta can go Ozaru, so many good things await, I hope to hear soon.

@@MasakoX to be fair, he has literally brought back that many people to life. As in making them all brand new bodies after utter destruction and brought back the planet on top of it. For me Shenron's limitations always seemed about raw power more so than scope.

@@MasakoX Fair enough Shenron, wasn't as strong at that time but I'd love to see an entire planet of Saiyan-Hybrids. Vs Frieza. In the Resurrection of F Movie. Imagine Frieza's reaction seeing billions of saiyans that he presumed eradicated. Waiting at the front door. XD he'd be pretty surprised.

Oh boy, let me tell you I am absolutely familiar with this concept. I am currently remaking a comic about that. Except it was not Krillin who made the wish. Except it was during a Full Moon. It went extremely BAD. Like, Thousands of deaths during the first night. I had to think a lot about Shenron’s power as well. Normally it is not doable and I had to write a backup side story as well.
