So I made this today. The halwa looked the same the texture was great but it tasted nothing but simply sweet. I mean the flavor of the one I had in bombay was completely different from this one. It had no flavour no smell no taste just sweetness. I don't know how come others are saying it tasted great!

Because you didnt give any flavour to it, it turned bland in taste. So next time, use rose water or Kewra essence or vanilla essence or kesar or any flavour you like. Add the essence matching with the colour of your halwa. Try all variants of essence from bakery supply.
