Masashi Hamauzu - Missgestalt for solo piano from: SaGa Frontier 2 | WDR Klassik

The role-playing video game “SaGa Frontier 2” is the eights original game in the SaGa series. The piece “Missgestalt” is performed by the solist Benyamin Nuss on piano and shows impressiv the uniquie art style of the game and the music which was composed by Masashi Hamauzu. The piece of videogame was performed on the 28th of august at the cologne philharmonic hall.

I love his SF2 work, but his other works aren't great. Unless there's some amazing one of his that I'm missing.

⁠@@Jordan3DSHe is also the main composer of FFX & FFXIII. There is no denying SaGa Frontier’s OST is a masterpiece, but I agree it is a trash take saying Hamauzu “towers” over likes of Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimoura and Masayoshi Soken. They are all great.

@@marshalldreamer I actually didn't know he worked on FFX, that's interesting! I would probably say it goes Uematsu > Shimomura > Hamauzu >>>>>>> Soken. I think at his best Soken composes decent songs, and at his worst he composes some of the worst songs you'll ever hear. If we're comparing by modern standards, then 2024 Shimomura puts Uematsu to total shame unfortunately. The man lost his touch decades ago.

Where is the sheet music for this composition? Those notes look to be at 1/64 note level. Maybe even beyond.
