Masayo Ishigure & the MIYABI Koto Shamisen Ensemble @ Bryant Park

LIVE music has returned to New York City! As part of Make Music New York 2021, Masayo Ishigure & the MIYABI Koto Shamisen Ensemble performed at Bryant Park's upper terrace.
Koto Shamisen music, a centuries old Japanese tradition, is loved the world over. Ever evolving, this performance at Bryant Park explores a range of musical possibilities through a mix of old and new.
The unique setlist was comprised of two dynamic sections. Part I one builds on traditional Japanese melodies with ensemble music composed in Japan. Part II is a new adventure where east-meets-west with incredibly special musical guests:

o Mr. Arthur Kell, Bass
o Ms. Mayu Saeki, Flute
o Ms. Molly Aronson, Cello
Our Consulate was proud to partner with Make Music New York to contribute to the return of a New York City tradition: beautiful LIVE music in outdoor spaces! We believe LIVE music is a vital step in the reopening of New York, we are happy to be a part of this effort.
