Let me take you along to Lisbon Airport (LPPT) located in Portugal. Madeira, Azores, Porto, Lisbon and the Algarve are absolute must-visits when travelling to Portugal! A cockpit view approach and landing in a Boeing 737-800 on runway 02 in Lisbon, the largest airport in Portugal. The video shows what it's like to fly a Standard Terminal Arrival Route/Standard Arrival Route (STAR) in a Boeing 737 800 in Lisbon. Interesting facts, approach landing charts and actual call-outs and Boeing procedures were added to provide a sense of everything that is going on inside the cockpit during approach, landing and taxi. I can feel why you has become a pilot. It is fascinating to fly over so many interesting areas, and be payed for this. You also need to be able to have the big mechanic-electrical "bird" under your control, following all the displays, lights, messages, etc. in the cockpit and being able to select the most important values among all the data and decide in short time to do the right thing to keep the airplane safe. Many thanks to let us see the world like you from the cockpit! Excellent pictures, and the superimposed hints are very helpful to understand what's going on.

Very nice and well produved vídeo . That's one of the long and standard approaches to LIS. Some TAP pilots, sometimes, execute a "short" version , in wich they don't go all the way to ESP to intercept the ILS. They just turn left when they have the Sintra Castle at their left and do and accentuated left turn with considerable banking (seen from the outside it looks like a "Fighter to Aircraft Cartier" approach). As for minimum separation, the airport is quite mall for present traffic, and sometimes that separation allows for alternate landings and take offs. Concerning winds and turbulence, from time to time occasiobal windshear over the runway and tailwinds of about 30 Kts tend to appear. And a big part of turbulence is caused by all that hot air being emanated from all the cars in the city, especially on that road next to 02 treshold. And after this you will have to do a video of an approach to LPMA, especilly if it's runway 05

Dave Greening -providing everyone in board walks away and the aircraft reusable immediately itbus a perfect landing -or so instructor told me when making my first landing on the 737 flight simulator. These simulators now are amazing in that they reproduce actual flying and landing conditions perfectly and if you "crash "no damage injury -only a bruised ego at most .!!!

I've flown into and out of LIS at least a hundred times over the past 30+ years, and the thing that is most noticeable is the heavily populated location of that airport. The airport itself has been expanded and rearranged over the years. LIS is often very foggy, and I consider it potentially dangerous in marginal conditions. One suggestion regarding the videos: The forward pilot's view would be a lot more interesting than the back of the shoulder and head of the FO. When you get around to it, do a video of the approaches to OPO (Oporto) and FAO (Faro).

When LPPT was made in 1944 it was in the fiels, in the middle of nowhere. Now everybody complaints that it is in the middle of the populated area but the airport itself is certainly not to blame. Just the same happened with LPCS, where I worked as ATCo for more than thirty years...
