NI don't care about anything but selling expansions and Kontakt instruments
@WeCreateMusicTV10 күн бұрын
@@X-101 It definitely seems like Native Instruments is heavily focused on expansions and Kontakt instruments, which can feel frustrating for users hoping for more meaningful updates or improvements. It’s all about their bottom line, but that doesn’t make it any easier for creators who rely on the software for their work.

Same bro.. I just went on & got the $29 dollar upgrade while it's still cheap. Something tells me they are going to add some more features & then charge even MORE when it becomes truly appealing, & desirable for users. So logically I would assume that ALL the NEWER updates that wiill eventually comes as time progresses. WE WILL get for free (bkz we've paid already)cfrom here on with MK3. So we took care of a headache for down the road we won't have to worry about possibly PAYING even MORE for, bkz u know how they always do bro. They are going to ADD those features & then CHARGE more for the update is they are going to do fax. It will $99 - $150 once they add the more features being REQUESTED that should already be there So YES, the update is VERY LACKLUSTER, DISSAPPOINTING, & a complete (pun intended) LET DOWN top to bottom with ZERO WOW FACTOR effect! & I am NOT Impressed. But I do appreciate that now with the EASIER FUNCTIONALITY (navigationally) software wise, but It was a real MISS to not add MK2 usage ability at least so we can use our controllers, although you don't need it with MK3 The software RUNS way smoother & I have lesser headaches getting this done. But NOT allowing for MK2 controller use almost negates that benefit bkz it's still more time consuming. Now had you be able to use your MK2 controller like u can still use the JAM, which came out I believe BEFORA MK2, or at least around the same time. SO WHY isn't MK2 able to be crossed graded into MK3 when they did it for The JAM?? These are the things that piss me off. The DECEPTION as If we are getting the things we've been asking for for 11 years WHEN THEY never PLANNED ON GIVING IT TO US!! And most of ALL (90)% of these so called "updates" features are very ARCHAIC & OLD, Basic, fundamental CODING & PROGRAMING At THIS POINT AS FAR AS TECHNOLOGIES with music production software's Hell, their are WAY POORER, BROKER companies who offer an even better product when MASCHINE is at the TOP, BILLIONS being made, yet they won't TRULY SPEND A RED PENNY to improve on their most NOTABLE products KONTAKT & MASCHINE department of N.I!! But the more people got into SOUNDS ,SAMPLES< SOUND PACKS etc the more they neglected the FUNCTIONALITY and features that really STABLIZES & SOLIDIFIES a music production software products LEGACY! They are essentially ABUSING their success, leverage POWER, DOMINANCE & INFLUENCE over the entire market. AS they, N.I now OWN 80% of most ALL SIGNIFICANT SOFTWARE COMPETORS BRANDS PRODUCTS now as they ran a MONOPOLOY on the industry by RETAING ALL top high end PLUGIN DEVELOPERS RIGHTSD to ownership So many people THINK they are using the BRAND that USE to, & always was known for owning it. But NOW THEY ALL SOLD OUT. DIRK at "PLUGIN ALLIANCE" so old 3, 4 years ago after that FLOOD they had at their studios in GERMANY! He almost lost EVERYTHING, then WE SAVED HIM & SPENT $10 MILLION DOLLARS OVER NIGHT & then he fk'd us over & sold us out when he was able to break at a PROFIT MARGIN with NATIVE that essentially made him a MILLIONAIRE now, plus he STILL is getting a FAT CHECK bkz he's on the BOARD of N.I executives smh & this is what ALL, or most companies have done, TOOK THE EASY ROUTE but it ENDED an era of the BOUTIQUE level plugin devs. Like the G LEAGUE of the NBA in comparison to the NBA If you will So now that NATIVE INSTRUMENTS OWNS MOST ALL THE COMPANIES we the consumer can no longer PRESSURE THEM to give us feature advancements bkz their COMPETITORS are now all their PARTNERS or they flat OWN that developer & his software concepts & idea's This is WHY we NEVER see, & probably never WILL see aby true progress with MK3 software. They WILL just keep STRING US along not bkz they want to, but bkz THEY SIMPLY CAN!! When you OWN EVERY DIGITAL DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE MUSIC PRODUCT< COMPANIES< & BRANDS their is nothing you can do but ACCXPET IT bkz others will STILL FILL theri pockets with $$$$$ So they are WILLING TO TAKE THAT LOSE with MASCHINE USERS! Bkz they feel they DON'T SALE enough of those units anyway, & that goes for KOMPLETE keyboad controllers to They will ONLY support the MOST EXSPENSIVE high end products bkz that's what makes you BROKE, ie EMPTIES your pockets with the HIGH END PRICE POINTS! Just like with this MK3 update. They are essentially saying that "IF YOU DON'T BUY AN MK3 (controllers) or a KOMPLETE S midi controller the you are NO

The computer integration with the hardware doesn't bother me. I started on Fruity Loops. My issue is the support removal of the MK2 to use 3.0. I don't want to spend $500 dollars on a 6/7 year old device that I know they will soon update( even tho they say they are not) on top of that, they still don't offer key and BPM detection. I'll continue to use my Mk2 on 2.18 with Serato sampler. Works just fine for me
@WeCreateMusicTV11 күн бұрын
I get your frustration. It’s tough when companies discontinue support for older models, especially when you’ve invested in them. The MK2 was a solid device, and it’s understandable that you don’t want to pay for something that might be outdated soon. I also agree that key and BPM detection is a basic feature that should be included by now. Sticking with your MK2 on 2.18 with Serato sampler sounds like a good workaround until they figure out how to improve their offerings.

Tempo change is cool. The ability to hear notes while adding in midi is an improvement. But ....Wow... Bounce? Something we could already do by recording a group to another Track is a feature? After all these years, there is STILL no support for Midi FX routing?? I can't believe We can't still even route MIDI from Reaktor (By Native Instruments themselves) to other VSTS within Maschine without a 3rd party vst. there are some great scalers and polyrhythmic sequencers out there that won't work out of the box with Maschine without a convoluted workflow. I was really looking forward to an update but for me, this was a bit disappointing.
@WeCreateMusicTV11 күн бұрын
I get your frustration. It's a little surprising that something like MIDI FX routing isn't fully supported yet, especially when you consider the range of tools and options available today. While the tempo change and improved MIDI note feedback are nice touches, they don't make up for the bigger gaps, especially with workflow limitations. The bounce feature, which feels more like a workaround than a true innovation, definitely doesn’t hit the mark after all this time. It's easy to feel let down when the updates feel more like tweaks than true advancements, especially when critical features like MIDI routing remain so clunky. Hopefully, future updates will address these concerns.

@Getsmore12 күн бұрын
I agree with you I’m mostly everything, but in native instruments defense, they clearly state that a few on other instruments this is probably not for you. This is more for people that have complete select or just getting into it and dabbling into other instruments. Stem separation, although it’s really goodfor the four parts it has it should be able to break down to more stems.
@WeCreateMusicTV11 күн бұрын
I get what you're saying, but even if it’s aimed at newer users or those with the basic package, long-time users deserve meaningful updates too. And while the stem separation is a nice feature, limiting it to four parts feels restrictive, especially when other platforms offer more detailed stem control. NI could really elevate the experience by making these updates valuable across the board.
@PaulOrtiz12 күн бұрын
I love my mk3. If all the hardware I’ve bought it’s hands down the most useful and it’d be the last one I’d part with if I had to. But ten years for this update…is crazy. Top of my wish list was genre based filtering for packs. There are so many (mostly amazing) and the names tell you nothing about what style they’re for. Also as far as I can tell, no time stretching for sample playback so things still get shorter as they get higher. No custom chord sets. I dunno. Stem splitting is nice but I have logic and rip x and they both do a great job. Still, I’m enjoying the new sounds a lot.
@WeCreateMusicTV11 күн бұрын
It's great to hear that your MK3 has been such a valuable part of your setup. However, waiting a decade for an update that doesn't address key features like genre-based filtering for packs and time-stretching for sample playback is understandably frustrating. The lack of custom chord sets also limits creative flexibility. While the new sounds and stem-splitting feature are positive additions, it's clear that there's room for improvement to meet the needs of dedicated users like yourself.
@matthewgaines1012 күн бұрын
They did the bare minimum considering all the time they had to do it. That being said, if you were making bangers before the update, the update won’t change that. Choose a product for what it is today, not what you hope it will be tomorrow. Akai knows updates to software and firmware sells hardware. Native Instruments needs to recognize this.
@WeCreateMusicTV11 күн бұрын
You nailed it-they had plenty of time, yet delivered just the basics. At the end of the day, an update isn’t going to make or break anyone already making great music. Choosing gear for its current value rather than future promises is solid advice. Interesting and informative review (and I speak as someone who is just now thinking of buying Maschine). A couple of points though. There's a lot of Akai good, NI bad in the review. I wondoer if you're aware of Akai's Advance and VIP history? Released with great fanfare, one reasonable update, then killed dead. I spent hundreds of hours making this thing the centre of my studio. Now useless. Though, ironically, NI did the same with Kore (I got stung twice). The other point I'd make is about your disappointment with the lack of change to the GUI. I'd rather like things like that to remain stable. You say you don't use Live because it's GUI looks the same. To me, that would be a positive. I couldn't give a flying if something 'looks modern'. I want to know that when I reach for a control, it's going to be exactly where it was in the last version. You've stopped me clicking 'buy' on Maschine (and I'm grateful for that pause for thought). I'll keep watching KZbin vids before deciding.
@WeCreateMusicTV11 күн бұрын
Thanks for the thoughtful perspective! You raise some solid points-Akai's history with VIP and Advance was definitely a letdown, and it’s frustrating when a major part of your setup becomes obsolete. NI’s Kore situation was similar, so both brands have had their stumbles. As for the GUI, I totally get it. Consistency is key for a lot of people, and a familiar interface can be more valuable than a flashy redesign. If reliability and a stable layout matter most, that’s worth considering when choosing a setup. I've used Live all the way from version 4 to 11, and I've definitely seen it evolve. Sometimes sticking with a familiar interface is ideal, but for me, a fresh GUI can really kickstart creativity and bring new ideas to the table. It all comes down to personal preference and what keeps the inspiration flowing. I’m glad the review gave you something to think about before making the leap. Taking time to weigh all sides is definitely the smart move!

The CPU in that device is underpowered. Thats its core issue. RAM capacity is also a concern. You don't have much to work with once the firmware (OS) is loaded and running. Maschine+ needs a MK2 with at least a quad core i3 and 8GB RAM with an SSD Expansion Bay to hold content. If they do that, they could port more instruments over and allow you to install all your Komplete content onto the device. It basically needs Push 3 specs.

Mah. Maschine is a content platform for them. Its probably the second most important product for them after Kontakt. Without it, why would most people bother buying expansions? They'd just get a Splice plan. Instead, Lol. NI is spread too thin and has trouble developing most of their products. Look at Massive X, Reaktor, Battery, etc... This issue is not unique to maschine. Maschine+ is unfortunate because it really needed Push 3 specs. it, 8GB RAM. NVME slot. That would have allowed them to port mostnof their instruments over and enable the installation of full komplete content onto the standalone. The current M+ hardware was underpowered and imposed limitations on how content had to be handled there. I also think the design of the software is limited fundamentally by the design of the hardware. Its easy for Akai to redesign their software because most of their MPCs have a single 7"+ touchscreens. You just create a small screen interface for everything. NI has these two screens with buttons and knows. Major changes to the UI can throw the hardware and software out of sync. The design of the MK3/+ hardware is a limiting factor for the software development team.

I get why you’re cautious about sticking with them for the long haul; if they’re not keeping up, it’s hard to fully trust they’re committed.

They are trash simple and will lose customers like me who will happily return to akai where I began native instruments drop the ball. At this point I have more fun using pro tools as it seldom crashes just because I used a waves plugin

I feel you-if NI keeps dropping the ball, they’re going to lose loyal customers who are fed up. It’s frustrating when stability is an issue, especially when other platforms like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton are handling things better. Going back to Akai might be the move if they don’t step it up.

@@WeCreateMusicTV I spent good money on them only to get sub standard updates and after every update maschine studio became more unstable I have work arounds I've developed then I bounce stems to mix in protools because it can't handle basic third party tools my mash studio is totally un usable I was hoping for a MK4 or studio 2 with this new programme I was let down on all accounts.

@@stephenmaxam Totally get where you're coming from. You invest in gear expecting solid performance, but dealing with constant crashes and limited third-party support is just draining. Having to bounce stems to Pro Tools just to get through a mix shouldn’t be necessary. And yeah, a new MK4 or Studio 2 would’ve been a game-changer-but here we are. It’s a letdown, for sure.

People need to remember how music was made. If you don't have enough to do your craft by now you should use FL. USE what you LIKE. EVERY classic dope song was made with less. 🤷🏿♂️

maschine act like they ish dont stink
@WeCreateMusicTV11 күн бұрын
They definitely act like their stuff doesn’t stink. It’s like they’re not listening to the people actually using their gear every day. That attitude is going to catch up with them if they don’t step it up!

I waited for better features but they take forever. Maybe I’ll switch to the MPC.
@WeCreateMusicTV11 күн бұрын
Totally get that-waiting for updates can be frustrating, especially when it feels like nothing major is happening. Switching to the MPC might be the move if you’re looking for faster improvements and more frequent feature updates. Might just be the change you need!

@@juniorhunter7268 For sure! If you’ve got the budget, the Live 2 is a beast. The standalone power and versatility are on another level-definitely worth it if you’re ready to invest. I already own the MPC One, MPC Key 37 and the MPC X.

This is a zero cost update, but $29 isn't insulting, at least. Hard to keep using it when PC DAWs are so good now and MPC One+ is so much cheaper than a Maschine+. Maschine Central is redundant. Its kits taken from expansions and auto sampled Kontakt patches, etc. Waste of $50 if you have Komplete Ultimate v13 or later, IMHO. It's basically a new Factory Library given a different name so they can charge for it. I think NI got spread too thin, bled too much talent and now have a hard time developing anything that isn't a Play Series Library or Maschine Expansion. They are practically irrelevant in the soft synth space, now, and there is a fairly high degree if redundancy to the other stuff they put out. Another Piano. Another Guitar or Bass. Etc. A lot of their products are practically abandonware.

You make some solid points. It’s tough when a company feels like they’re leaning on the same concepts and not innovating enough. The redundancy in some of their expansions and the lack of major updates definitely gives off that "abandonware" vibe. With how good PC DAWs and other gear like the MPC One+ are, it’s hard to stay loyal when it feels like the innovation has stalled. If NI isn’t evolving, it’s understandable why you’d start looking elsewhere.

I definitely feel robbed, and somewhat left behind brodie.... It feels like this product was rushed and a quick money grab....
@WeCreateMusicTV17 сағат бұрын
I totally get how you feel. It’s tough when it seems like a product gets rushed out without addressing the core issues or meeting expectations. It can leave you feeling like your investment wasn’t valued. Hopefully, they’ll step up and improve things, but it’s frustrating when you’ve already put your time and money into it.
