Maschine+ | Can it Techno?

Thanks to a friend, I got a chance to play with Maschine+ for a few days and made this simple sketch.
Very interesting and capable DAW in a box, but I can't say I fell in love.
I liked that it's easy and fast to learn, many native effects and instruments sound pretty good, awesome sampling capabilities.
And some things I didn't like, for example, there is no way of using macros and mutes at the same time, which is weird,
and I wish it had more devices, like: LFO, Utility, Spectrum.

Sounds great! Since you are an Ableton user the Akai Force would be closer to your workflow. Btw, it allows you to use macros and mutes at the same time. I would love seeing you jamming on that device!

Back in Machine mk2 times I thought they’ve created the perfect music making machine. Mk3 with screen seemed like a logic next step but I couldn’t get used to working with it and lost interest in the end. Watching this makes me wanna go back to making music again! 👊

Sounds great! Question regarding the macro and mute control. Does the faderfox controller map easily to control any of the maschine parameters? If not any other controller recommendations? Thanks!

I'm sure it can be done with a controller, but I haven't tried this, I was only interested in what the box can do on it's own))

Unfortunately it works only in Controller mode and not standalone (from the version I tested)

Yeah not being able to use macros and mutes at the same time is really weird, they go together like chocolate cake and coffee.

please make a tutorial how you set it up! I have a maschine too, but never got it to work properly for techno. don‘t use it too mich therefor, just sometimes when I‘m bored.

Im in a dilemma, i like the look of this maschine plus, but now the Digitakt 2 is out and similar price. Any advantages of this over digitakt 2?

They’re not really comparable. M+ is like a DAW in a box, with synths and samples, FX etc. DT2 is a sampler - it’s an amazing music making tool but requires a different approach

How do elektrons sound organic. They are the very opposite of that... Literally digital machines making electronic noises.
