They went in a different direction with the solution. The good news is that it's cheap now -- under $300 used. For one who doesn't have a lot of hardware equivalents, I'd classify that somewhere between a solid deal and a steal.

Maschine Jam looks very nice, I must agree. But isn't the functionality with it's integration with Maschine kind of like having an Akai APC40 with Maschine? This does the same thing an APC40 does for Ableton Live. For all that, I could have attempted to make a Controller template that will do the same thing. Maschine forever, yeah, but I haven't been sold on Jam. Anyone with an APC40 will see the similarity.

Are the pads as sensitive as the Maschine Mk2? If so, does it have the ability to capture aftertouch? These are both things I really like about my Machine Mk2. I can understand if it doesn't as the pads are pretty small comparatively. That wouldn't be a purchase killer but I'd really like to be able to just use one device in my performances.
@briankoolis51047 жыл бұрын
ExStatic Bass the pads are click button and not velocity sensitive. You would still need your MKii for that. I do most of my work with Maschine using JAM. I use the MKii if I need velocity pads and chopping up samples. I thought it would still use the MKii more than JAM but it's actually the opposite now

If you hold down the step button, you can select scene buttons 1,4 or 8. Those numbers correspond to how many sounds I can sequence at once. I had step mode 4 active so i can sequence sounds 1-4 at the same time. Hit down on the d-pad to access more sounds

Thomas Matt The Jam itself doesn't produce sound. It needs to be plugged in. The Jam sends the signals to the DAW and that's where the sound comes from. I'm sure there are some that can allow you to play without connecting it, but you might have to look hard for those.
