I just bought a used Maschine MK3 and Mashine JAM and loving them. Been using Ableton Live 10 with Push 2 for about a yr now. Still like that workflow; but feel NI workflow just gives me another option, which i find easier to get sketches of ideas down from my head into a format to work with.

Updated Again- I received an email today from Native Instruments, informing me that additional software wasd in the NI Access. When I went to it, there was all the software, Maschine, the library and all. Thank you for the fantastic tutelage. I subscribed to you definitely🙏🏼🙏🏿 Update: I just got it connected. I had to click on the icon "KOMPLETE EDITOR", so it's completely different as far as the setup, now I'll have to figure my way through a bit more, as I can't seem to find a tutorial for this. And yes, I have the maschine mk3. 👇🏾 Great video!! Only 1 thing, I just brought the mk3 2 days ago. I downloaded NI access and downloaded what's in there. I put my serial number in it, and Maschine is not in there, instead, it's KOMPLETE KONTROL. I installed everything in there, with the device not turned on. I went to the drivers, (win 10 pro). I followed you on everything you said here, and you make perfectly good sense, except they must have changed some things around. Looking at your screen (Maschine), Komplete Kontrol looks similar. After going thru what I thought would make it operational, I turned it on, and something is not connected, drivers, some-thing, because the screen isn't prompting me to turn on maschine/komplete etc. This is frustrating and I'm about ready to return this machine, although i know it's a great device. Can you help me figure this out?

Hey, I ran into a bit of a problem with my software. Around 3:22 on the video you reopen the machine 2 file, on yours it showed the library full of different projects. However on mine, when I opened it my library was empty. Do you know what would be causing that, and if so do you possibly know how I could solve this issue?

Really good video, until 6:04, when I press "Shift" but there is no "pre hear". When I click "shift" then the extreme top right white button, nowt happens other than the top right button light going off and the display above the right image "machine", changes from next/*/load toempty/set. scrolling through the sounds, such as anti blocker and bar upstairs, emits no sounds. Other than that, really easy to follow the initial set up. Thanks.

hey would you know by chance I have the maschine mk1 and took me a year to finally get it put in my name and now it doesn't work it just blinks once or twice I can't get shit for help from NI. I got one response saying that I would need to download the 2.0 update to get it to work then a different message saying mk1 no longer accepted I'm super confused and frustrated if anyone has any advice it's greatly appreciated thanks for the content

OK, before you turn anything on, including your computer, connect your Machine MK3 to your computer just with the USB. Then turn your computer on. Then watch the video again.

No, you can’t do that, the Maschine MK3 is basically a Midi Controller for the software. If you want a Maschine that is standalone you need to buy the Maschine +

I know it's been a few years since you made this video, but I noticed that you have the DT 770 headphones, I also have them but mine have very low Bass my question is do you use a headphone amplifier, does it add more bass, and which one do you use if you have one?

Hi, yes, I do use a headphone amp, it was from Gear4Music, the SubZero SZ HPA4 Channel, it was really cheap and it’s great. Also to remember, what is the Ohm rating on your headphones, the DT770 pros come in three versions, 32, 80 & 250 Ohm, the higher the Ohm rating the harder they are to drive without an amp, mine were the 80 Ohm version, they were OK but much much better with the amp, if you have the 250 Ohm version you would definitely need an amp to drive them.

The Maschine hardware does not have speakers, it’s just a midi controller for the Maschine software, if you are getting sound from your Maschine software you must connected correctly. So I’m not sure why the sound would be muddy. Try Native Instruments support, they are very helpful.

There is something you can but it’s a bit of a pain, here is the link to the video that shows you how to do it with a PC kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5zVc2qMYtV3nJo There is a Mac one too if you use a Mac, it’s really old. However, since the last Maschine 2 update, I think they fixed it. Since I updated a few weeks ago, it loads super quick. But, the first time you run it after the update it takes absolutely ages, but just let it do it’s thing, after that you should be set. You can check if you Maschine 2 Software is running the latest update by going to your Native Access App, and checking under the Available Updates tap at the top left. Hope this helps you out👍😊

When I installed native on my computer, it kept closing or never opens after running it through admin and file locations. My computer is a Windows 10 - RAM: 4.0 GB 32bit x 64 based; even checked firewalls, proxy's, etc. NA just doesn't run as it's supposed to so that I can set up my MK3, get the interface to show on its screen, then finally have the ability to use my maschine. I've had this device since shortly after Christmas/January, and my computer since Feb or March this year but I seem to be having a lot of difficulties, getting past the NA downld/run as admin step. Repeatedly. Any computer geeks or MK3 experts out there that can shoot me a few tips or help walk me through this roadblock! I'd be so grateful for ur assistance 🙏🙏✓😁🤗✓🤩🤩•💯💯💯😙🤝🙂

Hi, there are now two versions of the Maschine, one is this one, the Maschine MK3 and the other one is the Maschine+, the Maschine+ will work on its own with no computer. The Maschine MK3 will not work without a computer, it’s only a midi controller for the software.

Maschine Micro MK3 does come with a serial number and some software to get you going. If you go to the Native Instruments website and find Maschine Micro it tells you exactly what you get👍😊

No, essentially, Maschine MK3 is just a Midi Controller for the Maschine 2 Software as described in the video. However, there is a Maschine+ piece of hardware that does run standalone.

Try going to where the disk image file is in you hard drive or external hard drive, double click on the disk image file and try installing from there, once it has installed you can delete the disk image file, let me know how you get on.

It sounds like you definitely need to contact Native Instruments support for this, Maschine 2 software should download perfectly from within Native Access

To be honest it used to drive me mad too😂, I have a much tidier set up now. The problem is demoing so many different things that each require a different set of calves and connections, different camera angles etc.

I plugged in and turned mine on first and nothing exploded lol. Although I see why you caution against this. If you have not installed Native Access and then Maschine 2 software plugins it will be scary and dark and dead looking until you do. Also, Windows (and I'm pretty sure Mac too) will install device audio drivers and auto switch to it as your audio interface...which might confuse and scare newbies when their audio suddenly disappears. Ah! What it will do is pop up the MK3 settings dialog and ask you to set it up as a controller/load libraries, etc. Again if you have not done this already it can look scary. I've seen reviews where people got to this point and panicked...returned this awesome controller stating it "didn't work with their system." Yikes, it works pal, you just did not install anything for it to work with. Basically like plugging in a MIDI/USB keyboard into a computer with no DAW or sound libraries installed...it won't make any sounds, it will stare blankly back at you like "what do you want me to do? I have nothing to control dude! Don't hate me!" Main thing is installing Native Access, then registering the hardware serial number in Native Access, MK3 comes with a card that tells you where to go w/serial number...all downhill from there. Actually pretty easy.
