Wow! I'm sweating now. I'm going to need to watch this a couple more times, you cover so much here but it's way clearer than other videos I have seen on these features. I was very nervous when you did that clear thing, thinking you had just wiped what you made but seeing it again it was just clearing out scene 1 because everything just goes there automatically. I never really got "clips" at all, even in the Mk3 but like you say, once you get the hang of it, you can do so much. Thank you!

You don't have to do it this way, this is just showing you how they all work together and how it could be a simple workflow. ( If you prefer though, you could just make everything in song mode ) But, if you make beats often 15x a day isn't a lot. You'll get it! ❤️🦒🙏

This is the route I take, however, if you want you could record everything directly in song mode. I just don’t use that method because I find that this method has more structure. ❤️🙏🦒

I’m still kind of confused by clips, it’s hard to see what the difference is with sections. Also, could you not directly work with clips if ultimately that’s what you’ll end up doing?

Clips are a part of Sections/Scenes. If I relate this to food: You can think of clips as the ingredients, and scenes as the dishes made up by the ingredients. If I'm making 3 banana pudding cups ( I’ll be creating 3 scenes ). For the first cup - (Scene 1) I want to use Bananas ( clip 1) , pudding ( clip 2 ) , and cookie ( clip 3 ) For the 2nd cup - ( Scene 2 ) I want to use pudding (clip 2) and cookies ( clip 3 ) only For the 3rd cup - ( Scene 3 ) I want to use Bananas ( clip 1 ) and Pudding ( clip 2 ) only. Clips are just ideas/pattern variations used together to create a scene. You can work without clips “technically” however, as soon as you go to song mode you’ll most likely end up using clips again if you want to record directly into songview. @@janaeenimsaj you can place Lock States where ever you want and you can route them so that by pressing triggering notes are triggering some other sounds or just place them on a time Line accurately for precise automation/modulation

@@janaeenimsaj sorry if I was...😶 I thought that a hint will explain everything. MIDI 5pin in and out of M+. Choose empty group and empty Pad. Settings Maschine ON and output ON , Link ON and everything on Group Maschine, channel 1 C1 will be C-2 . Maschine Plus will control itself and like you do to Lock States to take snapshot the same way you will be able to trigger Lock States in that empty group and Pad with everything going through MIDI 1 channel and you will have to connect that Pad to control another sound but just route back to Maschine plus and that's it. It's working flawlessly and make more space for Another MIDI Controller, in my case Nektar P1 and Program Change can be used for Scenes or Selection change and MIDI notes can be routed to play from external Gear but MIDI messages are not possible for now but to be honest MK3 is next to Computer and I am enjoying Standalone Mode. Very capable device but again it's like a expensive device as a part of a much complex environment. Settings and connect M+ with M+ with Link ON and everything ON➡️ Lock States, Note , Maschine channel 1 and do same in Empty group and first empty Pad. You have 3 MIDI adjustment to do and it's Maschine+ channel 1 C1 will correspond to C-2 .

you can deselect scenes with the scenes button, and click the pad mode. Let me know if that works!
