Got turned on to Ma.K by the PPP podcast! Found my way to your tutorial videos after my GroB Hund got delivered from Berkeley House of Hobbies. Today I am pleased to say I am now an owner of your Sci-Fi F.A.Q. and as an armor modeller I hope you understand the significance haha. Also watch out for Rick Lawler, I also swore I’d buy his book first so he might be coming after you for revenge 😂

This looks like fun for the Groberhund! Awesome! I might try it!

This looks so cool with the semi-translucent yellow. When I had covid, I started painting a big Zaku gundam in mainly a grey/green camo pattern, inspired by your technique. It was so much fun hand-brushing again, and in this way 🙂. Got my first Maschinenkrieger kit a while ago and I'm really looking forward to doing that. Summer holidays I guess.
@PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright Жыл бұрын
Sounds great! Yes I was thinking the same thing, this style would look great on a Zaku right? Congrats on your first Ma.K kit and please share when you can.

Love the colour, I envision it emerging from a spider hole in some long dry grass on the edge of open arid landscape

Hey Linc! Thought I’d double dip and give you the KZbinr’s hi five! Love the look and the technique! Also great to hear you’re feeling better and see your energy is up. I think I want to try this finish to see if I can manage to avoid muddying up the contrast Mike I did on the Mk44. Super inspiring as always!

Awesome! Thank you Spud! Yes feeling much better and happy about this share. Your MK44 turned out so well, so that's a win. Thanks so much!!

Thanks for sharing Linc! great style and idea. It's interesting how the desert sand on top of the dark grey shows much more yellowish, even slightly greenish-yellow, not unlike the zinc chromate green used in WW2 as a primer. Maybe it's the white balance of your camera, or your lights, but it looks great. So maybe I should try camo with zinc chromate over dark pinkish grey next time hehe 🙂

Hello Manos and thanks so much. Yes I was thinking the same thing and also really enjoyed how the yellow changed to a greenish tinge over the purplish gray. It's such a cool effect! Please try it, you'll enjoy for sure. ^^

hi Lincoln! just got my first Maschinen Krieger models. Im planning on using Vallejo Model color for hand brushing since they're less toxic and i live in a closed room with minimal ventilation. Do you have any tips/suggestion for hand brushing with Vallejo? Thank you.
@PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright Жыл бұрын
Sounds great! Yes I will do another one with Vallejo in the future. You can also check out my MK44 series, I did one of them all with water based acrylics too. Starts with Rust Effects. Please enjoy!!

So I only use acrylics, mainly Tamiya, as my windows don't open. Is there any real difference between acrylics and lacquers when hand painting in your MA K style?
@PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright Жыл бұрын
Sure thing, that's fine and I was thinking about this whilst working because I expected this good question. The difference is more in the outcome than in the process if that makes sense? These paints interact which when we allow, gives us really cool outcomes. I'll do another one in the near future and use water based acrylics for you. Fun!
