Hi mate, well done, good to see you back to the Maserati. Just done the clutch on mine in the garage with jack stands. Not as hard as you would be let to believe. With insurance companies, not different here in Australia, it does not take much for them to want to writte off the car.

Thanks. Well done on the clutch change. How long did it take you? How did you go about setup/calibration? Any issues / tips? I’m planning to do this soon too.

One of the reasons I'm still procrastinating on Maserati purchase is that I heard once the new clutch goes in, the dealer has to reprogram things.. which defeats the purpose for me. Did you do anything? I was half wondering if disconnecting the battery for a few hours might reset things automatically.

The job took a 3 day long weekend of solid work. I found accessing and losening the cat converter nuts the hardest part. The Sport GT exhaust in my car is different to the one in the manual, which is a standard Exec model. To get those nuts off on the driver side you need to remove the oil filter, the heat shield for the oil filter and diconnect the alloy tube that goes from the oil tank to the oil pump. The heat shield has 3 bolts, the one on the back is really hard to get to. Took for ever. Also mark the oxygen sensor carefully, is very easy to forget which is which cause the cables are long enough to reach any position on both cats. The torque tue bolts are easy enough to access with 3/8 extentions and alonf 15 mm socket despite reports to the contrary. Torque tube is heavy, but you can do it by yourself with two jacks, just don't undo the bracket under it so it will hold it whilst you get a jack at each end. The gearboxbox is really heavy, but I managed it with a normal jack and a gearbox adapter. Just need to be carefull not to hit anything on the way out. The F1 pump hoses were very dry and I ended up replacing F1 pump, and the pressure sensor too .The clutch itself is not different to your standard clutch. Just losen up the clutch bolts half a turn each first and release the tension slowly, otherwise I think the thin alloy bolts will strip if only one is left tight. To adjust the new clucth, I brough the latest LAUNCH X431 Pros Mini Car Scanner All System Coding Key Programming as PRO ELITE. www.ebay.com.au/itm/176033910270hash=item28fc704dfe:g:FMYAAOSw9aNlSiLo&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAABICnKY0s9omm5dVIAoZsnnyZpFHQ1VotYOFr%2FuEsKwyMyoa4baZq4h5DtD7QHk5Gfy6OFO4BsysELY%2F1vlthWmIb9WHqCDexcCZ0regxrul9VYDmXYbMcaK%2F0o27cmyc%2B3cN6C%2FMjEmieQpBLhiyu2uvtJ1yLKzKtFGV8FluBQox3nVr4g2wMkKLJT1YJiGuk25xagwwIqnBiEZA0SvmSVr7MJJxcOFABhfspE4doh81IN2zm1DcBM%2FzIcH17z1o6CJwVcFvsUGs41RLVE8plrFsLwY0qp%2FQiyQ77O7p9WyMQahPIlKYoGKsxv%2BUa%2BP%2F4hLxREyxn9qRK9QTMawfnDzo%2FsfqoCW1gxLBF74xmlFoyCMfXHqDlo4mpYNNHtQnXBw%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMpNj-665j It has a function to bleed the clutch which I did a few times to be sure. It also has a function to automatically reset the new clutch. Similar to what I have seen on line with the factory computer or a Leonardo. It goes through all the gears 1 to 2, 2 to 3 etc and the reverse at the end by itself. You get the option only once when you reconnect the battery . At this point I have not touched any other settings. Once I have driven a few hundred kms gently like a grandmother I will see if I need to make any further adjustments, but for now the smell of burn clutch that I was getting everytime I parked the car in the garage is gone, and it pick up like rocket even when driving ever so gently yo bed in the clutch. Sorry, got carried away this message is very long, let me know if you have any questions. Did take some photos but not many.

Great info thanks. After seeing your message I had a read of the workshop manual. Seems straight forward enough, just time consuming as is everything with the car. Thanks for the tips and advice on diagnostics device.

Also I forgot to mention that if you take all the trim off the boot and then take off the heat shield, it leaves a huge opening so it is much easier to access the gearbox and driveshaft, and the F1 oil reservoir to top it up while bleeding the cluch. You probably know this, but it is worth the extra work, makes things so much easier.
