This year the Maserati Mistral celebrates 60 years since its launch. The Red Spyder has been prepared for Continental Touring as I do every year and will be attending the celebrations for the 60th in Strasbourg. But before it leaves we had better give it a road test .

Wow what a fabulous car! Have to say Maserati built a much classier car back in the day. The engine and exhaust notes sound utterly fabulous - sounds from another era. It must be such a pleasure to drive this around the continent on the great roads they have over there, pothole-less of course unlike here....🥴 Would the Mistral have come out of the factory with an Ansa exhaust?

@@stephenlmckeown1439 well we did but that was a couple of days later and with the guy that owns the Mistral. We have become good friends. I have been looking after the Mistral for over a decade now !

@@marksitaliangarage Too bad Citroën didn't go for a Maserati V8 instead of a V6 when they made the SM. But I guess it was french state regulations. The sad thing about Citroën hydralic suspension is that they stopped producing it when it finally was reliable. I love the old Citroëns. But WHY buy a new Citroën today? It's just a Peugeot with a different badge on it. And their cars are ugly now.

Had a Hot Wheel Mistral way back in the day and it was my favourite Hot Wheel for some reason. Weirdly the Mistral is the only car I can think of that looks better as a coupe rather than its convertible cousin although for the morning drive in the video, the ONLY way to go is in the Spyder. Thanks for sharing.

Hot wheels are cool and it is amazing that they actually make a model of a rather unknown Italian GT . But I think it’s great that they did so that more people got to know about the Mistral. There is also a lot of footage about the Mistral Coupe on the channel. I think the Coupe is really cool. I generally prefer the Coupe version of most cars especially as I live in England ! But when the weather is cooperative driving with the roof down is a real joy. Have a look at our other videos and let me know what you think.
